I was just together w/ Tony Meola & the Jersey boys three weeks ago. As many of you may have heard, Tony went into cardiac arrest two nights ago. He's going to be fine but it scared him and a lot of us. His message to all of us is clear: GET A CHECKUP. Rest up, man.

I’m not going to name this person. I hope she sees this and any responses and learns to reconsider. I don’t mind rules against trans women in sports. There’s no need to ridicule and dehumanize all trans people to fight for those rules. Duh.

The basic problem in the USA today is a complete breakdown in empathy. To “save” women’s sports from a handful of transgender participants, people feel the need to traumatize ALL trans people and their allies. It’s like stabbing thousands of people to win a tax cut.

By the same token — who decided to sue MLS/USSF instead of working to build a D2-through-D4 pro/rel league? It’s the original MLS suit all over again. The players wasted so much time suing when they could’ve been negotiating a CBA. Players told me they regretted it.

In research for my MLS book, I found that many players felt misled in retrospect about pursuing an appeal of their loss. There's surely even less of a chance of succeeding in this one. Kessler has done well in other sports, but remains winless in soccer. (He had naught to do with USWNT settlement)
