It finally worked! I have sourdough! The vast bulk of the credit goes to King Arthur Baking Company’s Big Book of Bread. It gives clear instructions and has lots of photos. The one thing I wish it would’ve included is instruction for high-altitude baking. My loaves came out a bit dense.

I have a trans daughter. She is 27. I adore her. She is brilliant and fearless, but I fear for her wellbeing every single day. There is a community of parents on Bluesky who share my concerns and want to make life better for their trans children. I don’t feel alone anymore. I love it here.
