I dabbled with CYOA-style pieces before Trve Cvlt arrived on the scene...one of those was a creative nonfiction piece called Between Jesus and the Joker. You can check it out in the latest edition of Backchannels. Hope ya dig it. backchannelsjournal.net/edition-no-1...

Yogurt's merchandising scene in Spaceballs remains one of the most poignant bits. I think about it all the time.

I pitched Trve Cvlt at StokerCon 2023 and had no fucking clue what I was getting into. Not sure @tenebrouspress.bsky.social did either, but I'm glad we got here. No lookin' back πŸ€˜πŸ’€ Hope all my buds have a great time at StokerCon this week/end. Keep it spooky. Keep it weird. Be good to one another πŸ’œ

Congratulations to @lyndseycroal.bsky.social & M.Shaw; each are nominated for Best Novelette in the 2024 @sjacksonawards.bsky.social! We're so proud of both of these Weird stories & their authors; hails to the judges, the awards board, & to the visionary author herself, who inspired us allπŸ–€β˜ οΈ

Seeing a lot of friendly familiar names on the Shirley Jackson Nominee list. Congratulations to y'all!

Spending the morning tearing down a North American SNES to clean up for a buddy. The controller was filthy. On to the console...

Few things sincerely micromanage my attention, but this dog is one of em.

Hung a bunch of new (errr old, but finally got to it) stuff around the office. Feels good to spruce the place up.

The answer is yes. Done.

I wrote a full, basic list-style synopsis and a three-paragraph synopsis today. Do I have it in me to do a query letter? We'll see.

Had a pretty fun start to the week with five-drabble set in Saros SF #3 - sarossf.com/issue-3/ (Black Mirror-y and grim) And an off-planet eco-horror short story at Pulp Asylum - www.pulpasylum.com (an unlikely duo and the plants doing weird things) Hope ya dig 'em!

Gimme a spoon. Gonna feast on some Weirdios.

For the evening crowd! If ya dig eco-horror/sci-fi, ya might dig Traced in Air. Off-planet stuff. Plant stuff. An unlikely duo. πŸŒ±πŸŒŒπŸ’€πŸ’š

My story Traced in Air is up in issue 7 of Pulp Asylum. www.pulpasylum.com It's an off-planet eco-horror thingy. Hope ya dig it! πŸ’€πŸŒΏ

For the evening crowd! I've got a rad drabble set in here. This issue rips. Grateful to be among these folks! Excellent work done by @erratawrites.bsky.social and @fusionfragment.bsky.social

*Pulls pants up to his nipples* Sure, it's nice to have email access in my pocket, but I will always relish "being on the computer". It's a time specifically meant for doing computer shit at my desk. A sequestered area of my house meant for going on the Internet. Anyway, time for my Metamucil.

From @kayv.bsky.social, a story to make you NEVER want to go in the water ever again! Or on a dock. Or in the woods. But especially not in the water, even if it's part of your job... πŸ‘€πŸ¦ŒπŸŠβ€β™€οΈ (plus some extra feel-punching and WTF moments!!) www.kickstarter.com/projects/mer...

I read this thing front to back this morning and I hope you'll do the same. Really stoked to have my drabble set included. With any luck, this won't be the last time you'll see some of these characters either. Thanks for having me @fusionfragment.bsky.social @erratawrites.bsky.social

Someone else said something very similar to this the other day, but. It really burns me that our (millennials') generation was legally terrorized for like, downloading Radiohead discographies But we're supposed to be ok with billionaires stealing human intellectual output in its entirety bc AI
