--it was only Gilgamesh who was deemed "worthy" enough to wield it. I also love that the banana fan, while not a "sword", was used primarily for offensive and defensive spells. He's not even a mage, and yet his spells were such a pain to deal with unless I had the Elemental materia! xD (2/2)

UWAAAGH I love his weapons (and shield)! His naginata, shield, and axe look like they were designed specifically for Gilgamesh, but Excalibur, Excalipoor, and Muramasa seem to be weapons of different origins. My wife and I even came up with a theory that the Muramasa is a cursed sword, and-- (1/2)

There is no doubt that Keith Szarabajka is a phenomenal VA, but I absolutely loved the deeper and smoother voice he gave Gilgamesh in Rebirth. I think he sounded ok before, but I can't help but his voice direction in older games made him try too hard to sound like-- (2/3)

I haven't noticed other people talking about this, but I honestly love how he talks in Rebirth (ENG dub). It's so theatrical and nearly Shakespearean as he flawlessly implements archaic words into his speech. Sometimes, I don't know what he's saying, and that's what makes it so great. (1/3)

Recently showed my friend @rosycheekedwolly.bsky.social a clip of Gilgamesh accidentally summoning Excalipoor instead of Excalibur. I just love that after multiple FF games, he finally figured out how to use Excalipoor by swinging it 1000 to 2000 times AT ONCE. Death by a thousand paper cuts!

Gilgamesh makes me like Ultros less. Like not having played V it's like "Oh, Ultros is fine, a little annoying, but I kinda like that little bugger" but then I see WHY he exists as a roll and it's like "buddy you underachieved"
