We are going to have to step up for each other. Lana is someone who is working for all of us: gofund.me/f76d72ce

Something I read today: “Loving Corrections” by adrienne maree brown. #booksky @adriennemareebrown.bsky.social “The good news is that we don’t need to be experts on every region to move with and towards humanity, connection, and solidarity.”

Part of why I launched my newsletter on Ghost (now that people are talking again about Substack's Nazi problem, to which I'd add that Substack has Marc Andreessen and Y-Combinator behind it, which is at a minimum repellant)....

BREAKING: France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain & UK sign a joint statement vowing to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty & demanding a role in the peace talks. This is leadership. It’s also unprecedented. A western alliance is having to form against a new, twin & united threat: Trump & Putin.

It's sad that so many media outlets have fallen for all the distractions, from Greenland to Gaza to tariffs that keep getting delayed, when the real goal is Musk's dismantling of the government The Philadelphia Inquirer gets it. Our latest editorial: www.inquirer.com/opinion/edit...

JUST IN: A federal judge in Massachusetts has blocked the Trump administration's rate change to NIH grants. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

USAID was investigating Starlink CFPB was the agency preventing dodgy financial maneuvers like X becoming a bank Musk is systematically (and illegally) going after the agencies that constraint his business interests

"I promise, America will soon be the Cybertruck of countries—uglier than you could have imagined, built for rich chuds, borderline inoperable, and on fire."

She speaks truth.

Costco, which has come out saying it supports DEI, will make no changes to its existing programs, AND pays workers a minimum of $30/hour, is up 15% YTD. Target, which announced it is ending all DEI programs and has a minimum wage of $15-$24/hour, is down over 4%. Keep voting with your wallet.

Odds are good that someone in your life has received vital care at a university-affiliated hospital near you. Trump and Musk want to destroy them. Call your reps and demand they push back -- especially if they're Republicans. www.house.gov/representati...

Many are asking: “What can I do now?” Here’s a revised and expanded list of actions you can take, in rough order of importance. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/more-on-what-you-can-do

Finally, some public leadership from a university president. More, please. Where are the leaders of the largest R1 research institutions most dependent on federal dollars?

DOGE's next target is the CFPB, which has returned $20B to the victims of financial fraud and abuse since 2011. Trump just fired its pro-consumer director and had his Treasury Secretary, a hedge fund manager, halt the CFPB's work. This is a coup against the American people.

"Representatives from Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service have fed sensitive data from across the Education Department into artificial intelligence software to probe the agency’s programs and spending, according to two people with knowledge of the DOGE team’s actions." www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Whole Foods, which is owned by notorious union-buster Amazon, is arguing that Trump's dismantling of the NLRB means the company doesn't have to recognize a newly unionized store in Philadelphia. Looks like Jeff Bezos' investment in Trump is paying off.

NEVER AGAIN IS RIGHT NOW RIGHT THIS MOMENT

Musk, Zuckerberg and Bezos are working with Trump for one very simple reason: They understand that Trump's policies are designed to make the wealthiest Americans even richer. These three men have become $232 billion richer since November. Not bad in a couple of months time!

All these Tech Bros grew up loving Luke Skywalker and then became Darth Vader for the money. Never underestimate the power of the Dark Side. #RebelAllianceForever

No land slide Trump barely won and he is so unpopular most people stayed home and did not vote! 1/3 voted for Trump 2/3rds did not!

In addition to being on a apartheid loving criminal Nazi, he is a leach and a parasite who is getting rich of our tax dollars.

Thank you! More of this!

Just a refresher - here are the Senate Dems who voted to confirm Bessent who just gave Musk keys to payment systems for trillions of $s. The include DSCC chair Gillibrand and @booker.senate.gov who Schumer has trusted with comms. Ask them about this if go to their townhalls.

Murphy: "This is a constitutional crisis that we are in today. Let's call it what it is."

Well done, more of this!!

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH** * Currently paused by Executive Order ** Grant reviews now all canceled www.kcur.org/news/2025-01...

THIS is how it’s done, folks.

NEW: After reviewing leaked documents, we have found UnitedHealth is strategically limiting access to a treatment for thousands of children with autism across the country in order to cut costs. Advocates say the company’s strategy may be illegal. www.propublica.org/article/unit... 👇

The Ohio Supreme Court has nullified the $650 million judgement that multiple counties won against Big Pharma over the opioid crisis. The court ruled that the state's product liability law prohibits counties from bringing public nuisance claims against pharma corporations.
