Come and work with us! This is a unique opportunity to establish a new team to turbocharge our work advocating for the library sector, influencing policy, delivering research and shaping the national conversation around public libraries.

It's out folks! Conference programme, list of abstracts and tickets for #CALC25. All details here 👇 sites.google.com/view/calccon... #LISResearch #LISConference

I got peer review back. Let's just say I don't think they got it! They didn't reject my article but they also didn't get it. So no idea what to do with that. I've emailed my mentor. Maybe she has some advice for me. #LISresearch

#AcademicLibrarians an international opportunity from Enssib, France's HEI for #LIS, part of Erasmus: Librarians of Tomorrow: Rethinking Services, Reinventing Professions. In-person week: June 16-20, 2025 Enssib, Lyon Villeurbanne, France: gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com?url=https%3A...

A great opportunity to start or develop your research-based #LIS practice with like minded colleagues. Two experienced researchers, @bhuvauts.bsky.social and @suzanasukovic.bsky.social, are looking forward to facilitating your learning. Further details lark.alia.org.au/lark-circle-... #LARKCircles

Lack of access to academic databases is an interesting challenge. Lack of advanced searching in OpenAlex is rather limiting. I'm having to make do as best I can to locate useful material. Open access publications are great but first you have to find them!

Our new #ACEFunded report into elicensing finds #Publishers could open up new reader development opportunities by making ebooks cheaper and more accessible to public #Libraries. Read more: www.librariesconnected.org.uk/news/report-...

Not quite sure what to do about my submitted journal article. Website says standard timeframe for peer review is 10-12 weeks. It's been 18 weeks. I emailed the editor 2 weeks ago for an update in case my novel method was causing an issue. No response yet. #LISresearch

Coming towards the end of my second week at @librariesconnected.bsky.social and the people are just so kind and inclusive. I feel so connected even though I am working remotely because everyone has made me welcome and feel my fledgling contribution is valued.

I wish this hashtag/feed were more used/better populated: bsky.app/profile/did:...

Today is also the beginning of #HealthInformationWeek. As vital purveyors of health information public #Libraries inform, engage and connect, supporting their communities in making positive choices for their health and wellbeing. www.librariesconnected.org.uk/projects/uni... #HealthAndWellbeing

While I was on holiday, my research data was approved for the archive and the embargo added as requested. I'm ready to transition to my new job.

Slight issue with my upload of data. In the participant information form, I said a 3 year embargo period. But Reshare only allow a 12 month embargo period. So what do I do? Wait two years before uploading it? #LISresearch I have contacted their helpdesk.

Ok I've finished anonymising transcripts. Hopefully tomorrow I can upload to a data repository. But first I have to do more some more admin around this. Research involves a lot of admin. #LISresearch

Just finished anonymising transcript 2 from Participant 2. It shrunk by more than half. Really difficult to untangle stuff about a person's role and their method. The challenge of identifiablity in longitudinal qualitative research. So now one final transcript left to do. #LISresearch

#LISresearch - This looks like a great opportunity

A few tears this morning after my line manager's manager (who was for a long time my manager) sent me the loveliest farewell email. I am going to miss all the amazing people at UH.

I've now anonymised the transcripts for Participant 3. So I've got Participant 2 and Participant 4 to work through which equals 5 narrative transcripts to anonymise before I leave this role after Christmas. #LISresearch

My role as subject librarian for health at the University of Hertfordshire is now being advertised. Don't let the weird job title put you off (Information Manager). I have been so well supported in this role. #LISjobs #AcademicLibraries www.jobs.herts.ac.uk/go/062776
