It's been loud and clear for well over six months. I think if they haven't heard that message by now from just about every quarter of society, they'll never hear it. For our sakes, I hope they're not deaf.

Thanks Mark. I haven't read an article of yours in some time and have missed them. I hope it is not too late for Albanese to turn things around. His softly softly incrementalist approach feels like it's reached its use by date, allowing to Dutton to frame the debate.

2/2 Either the Labor Gov can rise to meet the urgency of the environmental challenge or they can't. Piss or get off the pot. For me, they have just run out of excuses I am willing to accept. Block Dutton absolutely, but vote strategically.

2/2 As one of the most multi-cultural nations on earth, you might think some ppl w/ language & cultural expertise would be a good thing. Not Dutton, he calls that "wasteful spending". Dutton has form. A walk out on the Apology. A repudiation of the Voice.

He wants to take Australia down the path of the USA. He's copying Trump's playbook as far as he feels Australians will let him. Fear, misinformation, scapegoating others, the whole sorry mess. Dutton's record is all that we need to know about him. His record stands for itself. Abysmal!

And I would suggest that that message has been out there doing the rounds for many months. So, if Albo doesn't heed it's import and continues on in his increasingly enfeebled way, then the consequences will entirely be on him. No-one can say he wasn't warned.

3/3 He's offered no policy for Aust, only grenades frm the sidelines at the Gov. His only contribution; a failed policy to impose seven nuclear reactors. Now he's accusing the CSIRO of bias. His proven disrespect for Indigenous ppl continues. I hope progressives will vote for progressive policies.

2/3 communicator and can't even sell the few good things they've done. The LNP under Dutton have spent the entire term of this Gov opposing everything and accusing Labor for problems over which the Gov has no power. Dutton has transparently used race as a weapon and been relentlessly divisive.

The SMH Editorial feels the same and calls Dutton out for the base politics he is using. My voice here is not an example of the Left losing it. Mine is a progressive voice stating the obvious about Dutton's transparent winner takes all no matter the cost strategy. www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...

While the RBA's one lever, interest rates, can have an affect on inflation, it does have a massive affect on everything else. Sitting there in splendid isolation with an eye on the inflation figure alone while watching the economy slow right down & begin to tank has to be unacceptable surely.

2. allowed to have its own foregn policy, that we can NEVER differ frm the US. The Israeli response to Oct 7 attack has changed things. It is no longer business as usual. Much of America itself is anithetical to their Gov's response. The LNP's 'all the way with USA' attitude is puerile & obsequious.

Well then, his first-rate response to the COVID 19 pandemic, in which 1.2million people died in the richest country on earth, can fill us all with relief and positivity.

As an Australian looking from afar, I'd say: he promised them the world, now sit back and watch him fail to deliver (just like last time) and let them work it out for themselves. That way, they can own it.
