Regulators grant utilities a rate of return on equity (ROE, reflecting utilities' cost of capital) for infrastructure assets. @stephenjarvis.bsky.social found that utilities quickly ask for ROE ⬆️ when cost of capital ⬆️, but drag their feet when cost of capital ⬇️. idk why there's discourse™️ about conversationally forcing yourselves onto others on airplanes but I remember the time my mom traveled for work and got stuck next to the owner of Cigar Enthusiast magazine for 6 hours and somehow he wound up sending us YEARS of free subscriptions... very unwanted
