George Conway is right. Yes, the military purges are racist, but they are also treasonous. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was not fired just for being Black. He was fired for being honorable. That's why his replacement is not just White, but also under-qualified and on the Trump family payroll. 1/

This basically holds the imprimatur of POTUS. As an American, I do not support this or approve of it being said in our country's name. 🤬

Elon Musk's pinned tweet right now.

This is why JD Vance was in Europe claiming that the US values free speech. It is part of the imperial project to force Europe to allow Nazi incitement like the US allows.

We need to create a culture of solidarity. Boycotts and strikes are effective. February 28th, join us.

This is quite a statement. (To signal to the american public, I would read as this is now a cat 5 dangerous storm level.): "We urge policymakers, elected officials, and the American public to reject efforts to politicize our military."

Musk, Vance and their support for the anti-American, pro-Russian German far-right From Jamie Kirchik www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/o...

Bernie Sanders doing town halls in Iowa & Omaha. Why? There are 12 fragile GOP house seats & dems are going to work to make sure that at least two of them go Democrat in next election. Democrats DO have a strategy. It's just not as In Your Face as the GOP is. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Europe needs to boycott American goods. Ditto Canada & Mexico. Make it hurt corporations & our economy. Money is the only thing that our greedy & selfish billionaires understand.

Today is George Washington's birthday.

Brian Klaas's ( @brianklaas.bsky.social ) commentary at [email protected] on DOGE and risk is worth a read. I mentioned the issue of Musk creating whole categories of unmanaged risk a couple of days ago. It's really a Hit The Big Red Button™️ moment, but as is often the case, no one hits it.

This.

The military is often a cornerstone of authoritarian power. Dictators need the military's support to gain or keep their power. Critically, Trump failed to get that support during his first term. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Great thread on the how he got here of the Bonehead in Chief...🧵

We can only hope. 😎

Hmm. Wasn’t this the guy who said he wanted Hitler’s generals? You don’t suppose they vetted their new promotions for a particular “bias”?

Starlink, Space X, Tesla and X are both economic and political vehicles created not just to enrich but empower their owner. He is an ignorant, racist, rogue, narcissist who supports America's enemies and an anti-democratic, white supremacist agenda. Supporting those companies in any way at all...

The rate of descent into lawlessness in the United States continues to accelerate. Until that descent is arrested, and we can assess what institutions still hold, the country and its citizens are fundmantally unsafe.

The only thing worse is driving and having your passenger constantly remind you that we don’t have extra lives, and believes in the invisible, magical passenger side break pedal. 😁

Should you sell your Tesla? Should you stop using “X?” Should gov'ts stop supporting Starlink or Space X? Yes. Failing to do so empowers those who are actively trying to destroy our democracy & who are hurting the most vulnerable in our society and around the world. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

Imagine the concept?? Incentivizing education instead of attacking it?? Could this possibly explain why Sweden by far,far outranks the US in every measurable education metric??

For all of you who long for the good old days—Look who’s here

"...Failing to do so, continuing to support those entities is to support an enemy bent on the destruction of what you hold valuable ..." I would posit that they are bent on your destruction and the destruction of your life. Supporting them is insane.

New Spiegel cover: Betrayed First Zelenskyy, soon us? The radical departure of the USA from its allies

Remarkable: Trump's own pollster just found that in swing House districts, Dems lead by 5 points and voters want tax policy to prioritize working people, per Politico. Yet GOP is about to brutally slash the safety net and give the rich huge tax cuts! New piece: newrepublic.com/article/1918...

Instead of digging up dirt on Biden, Trump is now asking the Ukrainian President to let Trump's oligarch cronies dig up Ukrainian soil for mineral wealth. This is the face of Team Autocracy (yes, Trump is a member in good standing) going all-in on kleptocratic corruption.

Novel idea. Let’s fire a bunch of Park Rangers, Air Traffic Controllers, and USAID employees so we can save enough money to spend 200 million dollars on pure propaganda stroking the Great Leader’s ego. Even Kim Jong Un would blush at this.

Not an exaggeration. We are living through a geopolitical earthquake and the future of the planet depends on people recognizing that and, sadly, that the United States government is no longer on the side of democracy, the rule of law, the international order, progress, security or decency.

After mixed results covering it with tulips, they went with this. Those wily Dutch.

Read this: “The SAVE Act would require… a passport or birth certificate matching your current legal name to allow a person to register to vote.. [this] would fall especially hard on women... could exclude over 69 million married American women whose names do not match their birth certificate”
