By virtue of Grace Tame blowing up my weekend, I was reminded, once again, that there is a sizable portion of adults out there deeply upset by swear words and deeply unconcerned about the state of democracy and the planet. I'm all for manners, but have some fucking perspective, please.

MIL works in health and was complaining about there being new work name badges with pronouns. It's optional, you can just not get your pronouns put on yours if you have a problem. But also, it's like a base level of inclusion, it kills me that some people struggle with even that.

I liked the Man Enough podcast. There's been so many good conversations, and so many voices that I probably wouldn't have heard otherwise. I assume it's dead now, I feel sad about that and I feel sorry for Liz Plank. She seems like a gem and I hope her reputation isn't tarnished by this.

Advent of Code Day 11 was fun! Part 1 the solution was straight-forward, and worked with the most obvious data structure. But part 2 was just "do 3x iterations" and immediately the first solution fell over, too slow & exhausted memory before half the required iterations. adventofcode.com/2024/day/11

I'm completely stumped on Advent of Code Day 9, Part 2. My solution passes the example given in the explanation, and every other common mistake and test case that I've found on Reddit (first time I've gone to Reddit for any of these). But my final checksum is wrong 🤷‍♂️ adventofcode.com/2024/day/9
