Yea, in my opinion NASCAR is missing a big part of racing which is innovation. My hope is they learn what is working great over at IMSA and transfer it over on the engine and aero side. Until then, the series is gonna keep losing potential fans interested in the technology side of things in racing

Look, let me have a sliver of hope before we wait for NASCAR to do something completely stupid with it

Trying to post something coherent on a friday night is never a good idea and i waffled on about something different that you never said.

Educating users on this should allow them to choose what they want to do instead of just saying dont use frame generation. Have a lower than 120fps? Lower settings or use dlss to increase your fps Have higher than 120fps and/or close to games tick rate? Use frame generation with possible latency

As far as modern tick rates for games an example (yet very far fetched, im sure theres a better example) would be 360Hz for iracing. If you're already running at 360 fps, using frame generation to match a 480Hz monitor wont loose any info as you're already past the games tick rate.

I believe the true use for frame generations is for those that already have a high framerate (120+) and want to get the most out of their 240/480Hz monitors. It might add input latency but it will be smoother (haven't seen testing on this yet on how much latency is added).

Yea, im trying to squeeze in too many things into a post. Youre right, no one should be using this at 30 let alone 60 unless its a special case like what i intend on using it for like older games, instead they should use dlss to increase the fps that way.

Right but that can be true for a current game as well. If the rate is 120 or 360 then you can use generated frames to max out your 480hz monitor. I think this is where the main use case is, increasing an already high fps. If its lower, dlss instead. Its all about edu users and letting them choose
