*To the tune of Soundgarden* SpoonBowl, come together with your hands, save me, I'm together with your plan.

"This year is Lewis’ best chance to win an eighth world title." Part two of my chat with Crofty and Karun ahead of the Australian Grand Prix (and their Perth stage shows next week). Safe to say they're amped up to see Hamilton in Ferrari red.

I don't know if 'The Non-Flying Mullet' is going to catch on as a nickname, but good business by the Force to tie up Nic Dolly until 2028. Good work-rate and a great line-out technician. Dolly, Williams, Champion de Crespigny all signed until post RWC.

I've been trying to think how to put into words my feelings about Brand New returning and being a thing again and Jason does a really good job of summing it up here - as does the immeasurable Hanif Abduraqib in the referenced instagram story.

Waratahs physically unsettled the Force, beat them up at scrum-time, forced mistake after mistake, penalty after penalty. Felt reminiscent of years one and two of Cron's side, rather than the opening three games of this season.

Yet another Western Force late-drama game as the women fell agonisingly short of a first-ever win over the Waratahs. While the progress is notable compared to what they were two years ago, winless heading into the bye is not what they planned for.

Perth Glory's Dub finals hopes were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead. They were then transferred to a better hospital, where Kelli Brown upgraded their condition to 'alive'.

Democracy manifest

The Force have tweaked their travel schedule this year - and after a first-up away win, Simon Cron is hoping it has a similar affect this Saturday against the 'Tahs. Visitors are outsiders according to the bookies, but reckon there's a pretty good chance of a win over the Waratahs.

Development has been the name of the game for Charli Wainwright in her first Dub season. Yes, the article headline is an XCX reference.

"They’re a very bizarre team. I don’t really get a complete read on them." Can't excuse Perth Glory coach Stephen Peters of being dishonest in his analysis of Western United ahead of Friday night's A-League Women clash.

Jeremy Williams returns for the Force against the Waratahs this weekend, one of five changes to the side. They'll be confident of a win in Sydney.

Spoke to David Croft and Karun Chandhok about the looming F1 season. Part one of a two-part chat about the season starts with a certain papaya-wearing Australian...

Just three games into his Super Ruby Pacific career, Nick Champion de Crespigny says he didn't want to go anywhere else after extending his Western Force contract until 2028. Has a wider, positive impact on the Wallabies loose forward battle.

Listened to Jimmy Eat World's Invented last night. People truly don't appreciate that band's songwriting gifts. It's probably their sixth-best album for mine, but the ability to hold listeners' attention and Jim Adkins' ability to cut to the core of such singular yet pertinent themes is unmatched.

Season opener of AFL looks dope, can't believe what the script writers are cooking up

Read Sellout by Dan Ozzi a couple of years ago. Have only just started on this one, but already sucked in. Not enough books written about the glory years of emo/pop-punk.

Holy Christ on a bike... 😬

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Glory's finals chances are officially dusted, which will come as a shock to you all I'm sure. More bad football from a bad football side. Press seems to have regressed and players look hesitant (see fourth goal).

The Force feel like the Reds defeat was a game they lost, rather than one Queensland won. Nic White sounded devastated post-game. Mainly positives for the hosts outside of the result, although they've acknowledged the need to be better inside the 22.

Asked David Zdrilic about Glory's midfield mix and his thoughts on Nicholas Pennington and Luke Amos as a midfield two. Believes they can both play together despite neither being a typical deep-lying type. They'll likely both start against Western Sydney.

Steve Hall! #AFCU20

One of the games of the Super Rugby Pacific season, tense from minute zero to 80. Reds claim the win late, but the Force are the real deal - however, they'll be left to rue their wastefulness inside 22. Had more possession and territory but could not make it count.

hey no big if not but do u know what the third book is called

Daniel Bennie and his Australian under-20 teammates are up for the cup. Having already ticked off one goal this tournament by qualifying for this year's World Cup, the Young Socceroos are intent on punctuating the tournament with a trophy.

Western Force coach Dylan Parsons says merely confidence and the unknown is separating his side from reaching the Super Rugby Women’s grand final and challenging for the title. Parsons declared on day one of pre-season they were aiming for the title.

Oli Sail spoke really well yesterday about his errors, but remains adamant he can be the best version of himself.

Megan Wynne on the Glory tweaking their travel schedule for this week's visit to Newcastle, and managing the knee issue which plagued her early in the season.

Simon Cron on this week's Force-Reds blockbuster, the back-row battle, and the return of Reesjan Pasitoa. thewest.com.au/sport/wester...

Only thing I'll say on Sheargold going forward, given I've seen people in comment sections - seemingly only having read the headlines - defending him. He didn't criticise the Matildas; he insulted & demeaned them. At no point actually engaged with their performances. It's indefensible.

Both Football Australia and interim Matildas coach Tom Sermanni have offered a strong riposte to Marty Sheargold's comments and called for responsible commentary on women's sport.

Tolkien once argued that the most beautiful words in the English language could be ‘cellar door’. This is thought to be because he died before anyone uttered the words ‘zinger banh mi’

This is Paramore's best album and I'm dying on this hill. Hayley Williams remains one of the best songwriters to emerge from the Warped Tour scene.

"One swallow doesn’t make a summer" - the Force are not getting ahead of themselves despite back-to-back victories to open a Super Rugby campaign for the first time in their history.

There were moments last night where Perth Glory actually looked quite functional and composed, but once again left to rue an inability to take chances - and for all the talk of their mid-week dash to Thailand, Sydney ran out the game stronger.

New from me: The longer the Matildas go without a permanent coach, the longer they shall remain directionless, like a plastic bag floating aimlessly in the wind.

Hayley Williams writing After Laughter and Petals for Armour after divorcing Chad Gilbert.

The Force will have to overcome some unwanted history against the Brumbies at GIO Stadium - the hosts have won 16 of past 17 against the Force, and have beaten them 11 times on the trot at their Canberra stronghold. Last Force win in the nation's capital? 2011.
