Some thoughts on Dawn, and Michelle Trachtenberg 🗝️

File under 'good-weird Star Wars'

Disniversity listeners! Our sort-of-bonus episode on the cursed oddity that is 2006's The Wild is OUT NOW – a Disney film that simultaneously isn't a Disney movie. @drsamsummers.bsky.social and I are joined by pal-of-pod Jon Hornbuckle for this one. Enjoy! podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/1...

Bong Joon Ho spent his whole Stephen Colbert interview for #Mickey17 playing with this plush Creeper. Simply no auteur filmmaker is doing it like him.

The Andor trailer absolutely slaps, but notable how the entire teaser is aimed at non-Star Wars fans – general 'prestige TV' lovers who (foolishly) skipped the first season and should be locking into this as glossy, premium event television.

So to be clear, I call you when I break up with Gracie Abrams?

Friday competition time! 🎉 #Marvel's Hawkeye and Loki Season 2, and #StarWars' Ahsoka and The Mandalorian Season 3 are OUT NOW on 4K steelbook. We have sets of all four to give away! To enter: RT, follow Empire, and reply telling us your favourite show of the four... UK entrants only, must be 18+

We appear to be extraordinarily back

Caught up on Smile 2, and it is *incredibly* well-made. Naomi Scott is out of this world. But I can’t wait for Parker Finn to do something other than Smile, which is just monotonously bleak and grim (and, crucially, the ‘rules’ feel ill-defined). He has the juice, but I know he has better material.

In the interest of a wide spread of opinions: I really enjoyed Captain America: Brave New World. I had big reservations going in, but enjoyed the ride, thought the action largely hit, and thought Harrison Ford and Carl Lumbly in particular were *great*. A strong headline debut for Mackie, in my eyes

Who's gonna tell Truffaut they found *600 more* blows? 😬

Had SUCH a good time with #TheGorge, a big blast of a genre mash-up – cool monsters, looks great, has a real heart to it. And great use of the YYYs’ ‘Spitting Off The Edge Of The World’ 💘 Nice one, @scottderrickson.bsky.social

Insane new Tom Cruise ability just dropped 👇🏻

No Gladiators tonight because of the FA Cup, football has made a powerful enemy on this day

What a day to be both a Buffy obsessive, and a long-standing member of the Eternals fan club 🙏🏻

As a piece of pure design, the Darksaber is – canonically – absolutely sick

Lovely, lovely album

BRB, just gonna go and scream

One important piece of Godzilla lore that no recent film – American nor Japanese – has capitalised upon is that, canonically, he has incredible tekkers:

This Summer…you had better say the magic word.

This is the point where it’s most apparent they’re *all* fixated on Harry’s win last year. They can’t trust their own instincts at all for fear of getting it wrong #TheTraitors

Slightly serious #TheTraitors point. This year, I think they’ve all been too caught up in a Faithfuls = good / Traitors = bad binary. They’re all playing a *game*, the rules and aims are clear from the start, there’s no morality on either side. They all have reasons to win. Charlotte too.
