In every other scenario apart from the one which took place in the 89th minute last night, Jöel Piroe gently rolls the ball into the arms of Michael Cooper, who boots it onto one of the giant heads of Tom Cannon and Kieffer Moore and past Meslier. It’s a miracle that didn’t happen. #lufc

Leeds fans, this guy has been let down for a ticket in the away end tonight. Can anyone help him out or know someone who has a spare? #lufc

The guy who essentially just won the next chancellorship, Friedrich Merz, has been doing a press tour for the past week or so talking about how America under Trump can’t be trusted and promising to investigate Musk for meddling in the German election.

Hard to see Kinnear turning this down if he’s offered it. Even if Leeds go up, the chance to oversee the first season at Bramley Moore Dock is once-in-a-lifetime stuff. Feel like he’s never been fully accepted by #lufc fans either. Big loss if he jumps www.nytimes.com/athletic/614...

There won’t be an episode of Ctrl-Alt-Speech in your feeds today but the reaction of European leaders to JD Vance’s comments at the AI Action Summit mean that last week’s is still very relevant! Thanks JD!

Britain pulling a Substack and rebranding the "AI Safety" institute into "AI Security" because safety is triggering to some people I guess. Note that it then prominently mentions AI CSAM, clearly a safety -rather than security- concern www.gov.uk/government/n...

The Observer has seemingly just become aware of ‘government takedowns’ and decided it merits a front page splash. Despite Google releasing the data every year since 2010. Not much of an ‘investigation’.

We talk about a host of strong stories in this week's episode from the @washingtonpost.com to @thelogic.co. @mmasnick.bsky.social and I include links in the show notes but I want to get better at crediting the outlets/reporters (we'd struggle without them). So here's this week's source list 🧵

This week's episode of Ctrl-Alt-Speech has a distinctly French feel with a sprinkle of UK governmental ego. It's basically the podcast equivalent of the Concorde. Or trying to import good French wine. Grand but impractical. Have a listen while you can. podcast.ctrlaltspeech.com/2315966/epis...

Coming out later today on Ctrl-Alt-Speech, we had @aramsinn.bsky.social's Media Law & Policy class sit in and participate. It was a really fun experiment, allowing the students (and Aram) to ask questions at different points during the recording. Might be fun to try to do more of this.
