@peacockflu.bsky.social — I've been hearing speculation that HPAI genes have already reassorted into current A(H3) strains that have been causing a surge in flu cases and hospitalizations. Is there any evidence for this? I don't know who else to ask.

@peacockflu.bsky.social, does anyone know—or have a theory—why Clade 2.3.4.4b Genotype B3.13 (which infects cattle) and Clade 2.3.4.4b Genotype D1.1 (which infects birds) have such different pathologies when they infect humans? Any studies you're aware of would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

In another time and place, Brian Thompson would be the technocrat, high up in the regime—who never got his hands dirty—but enabled greater efficiency in the concentration camps. I'm sure he was otherwise a very nice guy and fun at cocktail parties.
