Like we would absolutely do that on our own but not in a rental car and not as traffic policy

Ex and I had a bit where every time the dog begged she was asking for money, because she kept picking the wrong horses and “Sharky” was starting to make comments about her kneecaps. The amount she needed was always specified and went up slightly every time.

Hey you might want to subscribe to @skywatch.blue, which has already labeled this sad troll appropriately

We still try to catch each other with them in daily conversation, and especially in front of strangers.

Spouse and I both used to speak at Odd Salon in San Francisco, where there’s a fine audience tradition of shouting certain catchphrases when anything even tangentially related to them comes up in talks, especially SHIPS!, SCIENCE!, and WHORES!

100%. Complying in advance isn’t just morally wrong; it’s useless, because the goalposts will keep moving.
It will be interesting to see whether and which institutions grasp that.

I totally retired from SF to PDX 🤦🏼, and I will say one of the major differences is guns. Even people who’ve never touched one are less likely to be freaked out by the idea here, and I think that’s a major factor in our willingness to brawl.

Petty enough for sure, but within the law, and this administration manifestly doesn’t give a shit about the law. And while the City has stood up to the Feds on immigration, I doubt they’re willing to provoke potential violence over the Presidio.

They should, absolutely. I’m a fellow Cascadian; I agree organization and capacity-building and infrastructure will have to be local if we’re going to survive.
But I invite you to imagine what happens if the City of San Francisco tries to seize land that our self-declared king believes to be his.

yes, but it could be bigger, the biggest golf course, people would say to me, mister president, this is the biggest most beautiful golf course, you turned around this antifa hellhole, it’s incredible

The Presidio is federal land, so while they maybe theoretically could in an ideal situation, someone probably has this earmarked for a golf course or other “public-private partnership.”

We got married there last year. @schuyler.info asked our fathers, both veterans, if they objected to us taking some wedding photos in the cemetery, thereby consulting significantly more stakeholders than were consulted in the EO.

Somewhat mollified by the thought that this is probably the last IUD I’ll need and I’ll never have to vasovagal again.

I actually changed mine by court order, so I have a bunch of certified copies of the order and am good to go for most purposes. I actually haven’t looked at how that would affect SAVE, but thankfully the passport supersedes it!

People at the dog park who wear treat bags on their belts are always so surprised to find a Chihuahua at their elbow.

I’d love to see Judith Martin’s opinion of the use of one’s child as a human shield.
