What it’s supposed to be….

The betrayal of Ukraine by the US…

Trump wants to pay women $5k to have kids — while gutting Medicaid and the ACA. The average cost of giving birth without insurance is $13,393 for vaginal delivery and $22,646 for C-sections. He’s wants more births while making it unaffordable to have, let alone raise, a kid.

DOGE claims to have cut $155 billion in spending, but can only prove that it cut $12.6 billion. The Trump administration has increased government spending by $154 billion compared to this time last year. DOGE is the waste and fraud. doge.muskwatch.com

How is it possible U.S. citizens are being held as illegal aliens in America even after they produce their birth certificate? This is intolerable. www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

🚨BREAKING: On behalf of NC Alliance for Retired Americans and VoteVets AF, my firm has filed an appeal to the Fourth Circuit to block the Republicans' efforts to steal a North Carolina state Supreme Court election. Follow Democracy Docket for full details. www.democracydocket.com/cases/north-...

Trump is shredding our Constitution and tanking our economy. Thom Tillis lacks the courage to stand up to him — I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit on the sidelines.   I’m running to fight for a better future for North Carolinians.   Join our campaign — let’s take back the Senate.

As Members of Congress, we can do more than just disagree or do an interview or send out a tweet. We can demand that the funding that we appropriated for these departments should be spent in the way that it was intended.

The most corrupt administration in American history wants you to look the other way from this. We can't. We need answers.

Update: The House just passed the Republican voter suppression measure that threatens voting access for millions of Americans, including 69 million women whose married names don't match their birth certificates. Make sure your senators know you expect them to stand against it.

“It’s the most extraordinary attack on voting rights in American history,” Wilentz said. “This is an attempt to destroy American democracy as we know it. www.democracydocket.com/analysis/the...

NEW VIDEO: The U.S. House of Representatives passed a major voter suppression bill that would disenfranchise millions of eligible voters and badly undermine democracy. Paige and I break it down. youtu.be/XS8aePRgFU4?...

Forcing people to pay $130 for a passport in order to vote is just a Jim Crow poll tax by another name. It is blatantly unconstitutional.

Donald Trump was recorded in the Oval Office happily bragging about how much money his billionaire buddies made off of his shady tariff scheme. (Insider trading amuses and delights this group.) “He made $2.5 million today, and he made $900 million! That’s not bad,” Trump said, pointing to…

Listening to the town hall and want to thank you for articulating the concerns that many of us have so well.

JFC. So far, Trump has caused markets to lose about 14%. Here's how the same period to date looks under other recent presidential terms

Guys, guys, guys. It’s not math. It’s not finance. It’s not economics. It’s all about psychology. Abnormal psychology. Read the DSM-5’s chapters on Cluster B personality disorders. And then it all becomes clear. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/08/b...

I have a suggestion Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: Watch and read some local news. Maybe then he’ll find out just how wrong he is about the way retirees are responding to this Trump-induced multi-trillion dollar stock market crash. My latest ⤵️ open.substack.com/pub/jennifer...

The only reason this chaos continues is because the Republicans in Congress are allowing it. The House and Senate are actively involved in destroying our democracy and economy.

Stock market poised to crash tomorrow & Donald states “sometimes you have to take medicine”. He’s crashing the economy on purpose. Maybe it’s time for him to take his “medicine”.

“A top Goldman Sachs executive summed up the frustration with Mr. Trump succinctly: Someone has to stop him.” www.nytimes.com/2025/04/06/b...

The Guardian reports that people at the SSA, the agency that manages benefits for nearly 70 million Americans, worry that it’s in a “death spiral” www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Democracy!

Trump’s own voters are turning on him.

TAPPER: You're imposing a 10% on the Heard and MccDonald islands. They have zero human inhabitants. Why are you putting tariffs on islands entirely populated by penguins? ROLLINS: Whatever. Listen, the people leading this are serious, intentional, patriotic, the smartest I've ever worked with.

Social Security lost 7,000 employees over the last two months under Trump and Musk. They are planning to fire thousands more and shut down offices across the country. Our elders and people living with disabilities deserve dignity and respect. Not this. We must keep fighting to stop these cuts!

All within a few hours --> Howard Lutnick: “I don’t think there’s any chance Trump is going to back off his tariff" Peter Navarro: “This is not a negotiation" Donald Trump: "The tariffs give us great power to negotiate. They always have.”

The worst news of the week. "The U.S. Senate confirmed Harmeet Dhillon, a veteran lawyer with a history of attacking voting rights, to lead the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Republican members of Congress can stop this at any point.

Trump's student deportations are a test for conservatives who claim to stand for free speech. They're mostly flunking it. www.vox.com/on-the-right...

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Koh: If you're going to come after the Biden administration on jobs, Biden created 15 million jobs more than many presidents in modern history with the IRA, with the infrastructure bill, including the bridge in Kentucky, which Mitch McConnell signed off on and was at the groundbreaking.

People have been screaming for action from Dems for over 2 months Recognize when Dems stand up & push back. You may want more, but it won’t come if you scorn any & all action. Offer some kind of public “payoff,” & more people will stand up. Don’t fall into yet another Democratic purity test.

I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:
