100%. And authors- if there's critical feedback, it's much better to get that while the manuscript is still in development and the feedback can be addressed. Bumpy doesn't necessarily mean bad; rather, it often shows engaged reviewers who see enough potential in the work to raise important points.

My book From Incarceration to Repatriation has been nominated for a DH Award. If you liked it, you can vote for it here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

I have so much to do, but

being an indie bookseller in the helltimes has felt both very stable and very stabilizing, and part of me wishes everyone could be on my side of the counter for a little while, because I think it would help some of you be a little less cynical and doomy right now. so here is my VERY anecdotal data:

So, it's Friday. Black Walnut Manhattan. Cheers, team. We did it again, almost barely but good enough, and I'm going to keep cheering us on anyhow.

👇An excellent interview with the excellent @rmidura.bsky.social on the latest #1869Podcast.👇 Find out more on her excellent book, order your copy, or bonus (!): download an OA copy of "Postal Intelligence," all at @cornellupress.bsky.social's book page: www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/9781501...
