Every Dem in Congress could snd should go to the closest GOP districts in their state and do this for the next month

Exactly why I've been writing, podcasting, and damn near screaming about using the right language. The mainstream media is failing us SO badly right now. Stop. Calling. This. Shit. DEI. This is (re)segregation. This is racial purging. Cleansing Black people from positions of power.

I want to see city halls full of rumpled retired people ready to skeletonize a recalcitrant congressperson in 30 seconds, all across America

Last night's Pentagon massacre is much more than realized. Not just firing the black CJCS and first woman CNO but all the senior JAG officers and hiring a man who just joined 3 different crypto firms tied to Kushner and Thiel as Chairman. I did a deep dive into it open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

One way to say things are great is to make sure no data exists that show the opposite. Hence the attack on collecting data on infants and mothers.

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

Thank you @aoc.bsky.social.

Hochul is one of the few Democrats who has grown in strength and spine since the election.

BREAKING: A Ninth Circuit panel DENIES the Trump administration’s request to limit the nationwide scope of a Seattle court’s injunction that blocks Trump’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship. The panel included two Republican appointees, and one Democratic appointee

NYT, folks. Embarrassing shit.

The cruelty. bbc.com/news/article...

Dear third-party voters, you’ve been awfully quiet. What’s up? What’s the game plan for the next 3 years and 11 months? Asking for 75,017,626 friends who did the right thing because we wanted to avoid all of this shit!!!

Illuminating interview.

Jim Acosta: I think the AP should consider whether or not to sue the administration… and the rest of the press corps should start seriously considering whether it’s worth sending everyone into the Oval Office, onto Air Force One, or into the briefing room.

Imagine being rich enough to do anything you want and choosing to take food and medicine from starving children to give yourself even more money.

George Orwell would be having a field day

So "woke" means helpful information, basically

Maybe I wasn’t clear about this. I wanted more egg and no plane crash, not many plane crash and no egg.

The UK has a shadow cabinet - political positions within the party that isn’t in power - and so should we. Plus, we need weekly press briefings led by @petebuttigieg.bsky.social on the state of the union. Business-as-usual time is over.

“Big Journalism’s leaders need to think hard — and fast — about whether they are just presenting facts — the latest developments — or actually getting the nightmarish reality across.” Just so, @sulliview.bsky.social margaretsullivan.substack.com/p/four-essen...

It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out. They gut the FAA. Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted. Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?

RFK being an addict isn’t the issue — no one better understands drug misuse than a former user. RFK being a fanatical pro-life, queerphobic, mental illness-denying anti-vaxxer, ‘nutrition huckster’ and conspiracy theorist is the issue. www.motherjones.com/politics/202... @annamerlan.bsky.social

This means nothing. Useless. Empty words, zero action. Boycott his events. Refuse to cover his photo ops and propaganda signings. He’s addicted to coverage and hates being ignored. Until you band together and do something, these statements are utterly pointless & pathetic.

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me." Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

The NYT “Is Birthright Citizenship REALLY Constitutional???” op-ed is the conservative legal movement in a nutshell: “Sure, the law is X, but what if it weren’t”-style academic backfill for conservative policy advocacy. Dogshit writing, fantasyland analysis, embarrassing for everyone involved.

At a bare minimum they could… tell voters what is going on. This is as about volume as it is message or procedural tactics. Every Dem in Congress could act as statewide officials who travel and engage across their states to tell people what they’re doing and pin it on local Republicans. Not hard!

So gross. He can afford a babysitter ffs.

The sheer absurdity of it all.

Had to endure reading Ross Douthat’s excruciating NYT interview with Marc Andreessen for work, and it was a bleak reminder that our system grants obscene power and wealth to the most emotionally stunted and cerebrally bankrupt people. The way we allocate political and economic influence is a farce.

Obviously

Helpful!

the single most un-american and anti-constitutional statement ever uttered by an american president

If the Trump administration ignores court orders, judges have a range of options available to ensure compliance. Here are some of the most powerful tools at their disposal:

There was a purge yesterday at the National Parks Service and we need to be screaming about it. Historians, these are our public history colleagues!

Penn has always wanted to be the nation's leading university and it finally is -- in chickenshit cowardice I guess when your most famous alums are Donald Trump and Elon Musk you have a legacy to live down to www.inquirer.com/education/un...

To Mitch McConnell, who will never read this: You made a few decent votes because you're retiring, so you no longer have to please your master. You get no thanks from us. You could have ended this long ago by voting to convict him. Now, rot in hel, because that's where you've dropped us all.

Lawyers are *so close* to calling the unregustered and incommunicado detentions by the correct term: enforced disappearance. My and Dr. Leal’s Dec. 2024 article in the Journal on Migration & Human Security shows this long and intentional history (including Gtmo): journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

The FBI should just arrest a DOGE person for compromising national security. They can do that. No White House permission needed. The FBI doesn't require such high-level permission to make arrests for obvious crimes. It would be like cops getting permission from the mayor to arrest bank robbers.

Even worse incompetence: they accidentally fired, then apparently today un-fired, hundreds of the people who manage America's nuclear weapons.

They’re doing project 2025, just like we said they would
