Trump’s threat of mass firing of roughly 5,000 employees across HHS agencies this week appeared sloppy and haphazard, with Kennedy and other officials backpedaling on multiple occasions after it became clear that firing thousands of workers would imperil critical programs.

So DOGE's 'wall of receipts' is riddled with errors, falsehoods and distortions. big shock. about what you'd expect from 6 tech bros dragged over from the strip club www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

If the media won’t call it a Nazi salute then they’re definitely not going to say that someone was fired because they are Black or a woman. These outlets are complicit.

Immigrants in FL make up 47% of workforce in agriculture, forestry, fishing, hunting and mining; 38% in construction; and 25% in service jobs. Going after this workforce means higher prices in supermarkets and disrupted supply chains. That’s the reality.

Why aren’t you reporting on Cruz’s and Cornyn’s silence on Trump’s statement on Ukraine and his coziness with Putin? This is frightening. @dallasnews.com

"[Musk] is trying to gut everything good in America for his own private profit. This is the culmination of what oligarchy is all about...the fusion and the capture of the billionaire class of our democracy." - @aoc.bsky.social with @fedworkersunited.bsky.social today #SaveOurServices

It’s incredible that Trump’s people say the answer to bird flu is supposedly “better biosecurity” while they’re firing the biosecurity people.

Why won’t Elon show us the savings from DOGE? What’s he hiding?

REVEALED: we identified the operator of an overtly racist X account, "GlomarResponder," as ICE Assistant Chief Counsel James Rodden, based on an overwhelming number of biographical details matched through publicly available documents, other social media activity, and courtroom observation.

@clayjenkins.bsky.social Is anyone looking this? www.texasobserver.org/ice-prosecut...

State AGs are looking for federal workers who have just been illegally fired to stand as litigants in a new lawsuit trying to freeze further action by DOGE. DM me if that’s you and you’re interested and you’re live in one of the following states: NM, AZ, CA, CT, MD, MI, MN, NV, OR, WA, RI, or VT.

Want to go visit the national parks this year? Sorry. The reservation system is shut down, EMT personnel are gone, so don't get hurt or lost. No one can clean the bathrooms or cabins, so they'll be closed. Rangers are fired. www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti...

Dying in a hideous plane crash because the world’s most racist and unlovable nerds couldn’t handle a 45 minute HR training.

U.S. aviation safety has always been paramount, as it ensures the protection of millions of passengers and crew members traveling daily. Gutting the FAA & ATC will have dire consequences. Contact your senators, governors and the CEO’s of United, AA and SWA. www.wusa9.com/article/news...

Trump has begun firing several hundred FAA employees. Guess who is visiting the FAA command center today to "suggest improvements"? Elon Musk, of course. The billionaire grift continues. https://apnews.com/article/doge-faa-air-traffic-firings-safety-67981aec33b6ee72cbad8dcee31f3437

The flying public needs answers. How many FAA personnel were just fired? What positions? And why?

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

Per @taracopp.bsky.social: “FAA staff fired over the weekend included personnel that worked radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, among others. Hundreds were fired, just weeks after a fatal mid-air collision in DC killed 67.”

"Elon Musk’s US DOGE Service is seeking access to a heavily guarded Internal Revenue Service system that includes detailed financial information about every taxpayer, business and nonprofit in the country, according to three people familiar with the activities, sparking alarm within the tax agency."

One nice thing about being a free person, or the operator of a free press, is you don’t have to consult—much less “obey”—a goddam book of presidential proclamations to learn what words, geographic or otherwise, are permissible to use. Any government encroachment on that freedom ought to be fought.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

Even worse incompetence: they accidentally fired, then apparently today un-fired, hundreds of the people who manage America's nuclear weapons.

Don't let Trump flood your zone. Stay focused. Keep your eye on what this corrupt regime is really doing — looting the government to line their own pockets with massive tax cuts and the ability to steer more federal contracts their way.

A huge decision from Judge Amir Ali, meticulously reasoned and utterly scathing, finding that Trump’s foreign aid freeze is almost certainly an illegal and arbitrary abuse of power. He orders the immediate restoration of all international assistance. s3.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

It’s very interesting how media outlets like 404 and Wired who do tech and not DC cocktail party circuit slop have covered the Musk angle best because their guiding light isn’t getting a ticket to next weeks book release party in Georgetown

horse in the hospital, but the horse has nuclear weapons is the thing

The complete failure of Republicans in Congress to exercise their power as a check on the executive branch is national disgrace. But the courts are doing their job and may yet protect democracy from Trump.

To be clear, it's not a mistake that grants to train special ed teachers were cancelled. MAGA absolutely considers those to be verboten "DEI," and Silicon Valley considers them contrary to their eugenics project.

Many of you have asked me about the impacts of the sudden USAID closure on Vietnam. This is one among many of them.

At this point I genuinely don't think it's hyperbole to say that Elon Musk is functionally in charge of the US government. Perhaps not in specific policy areas - two bills or one on the hill, policy in the mideast. But certainly functional control of the state apparatus.
