A very well thought through piece from @profneilward.bsky.social these are challenging times... but change is possible.

My piece in The Conversation reflecting on the implications of today's Seventh Carbon Budget report for land, food and farming in the UK. theconversation.com/the-uk-must-...

Think solar farms are bad for nature? Think again. Those designed for nature in East Anglia are teeming with birdlife - including threatened species. A new study reveals why. ⤵️

Nigel Farage: Self-styled man of the people, but one of the highest-earning MPs (£615k in this session). Reform presents itself as anti-elite—yet four of its five MPs are millionaires. @stephenmcnair.bsky.social explores how it all adds up. 💰

Niwgwl heddiw / Newgale today. Low tide will be at 13:11.

These losses put the sector and country at risk. I work in health, how can the UK increase the NHS workforce as planned without the staff to teach them? Where is the joined up thinking here?

Another Win for South Norfolk! A resident was worried by the condition of their property and the lack of investment by their housing association. They approached me for support and I secured an inspection. If you are facing a problem please contact me at [email protected]

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism. We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

Trump wouldn't like it but you might. A politics podcast thats not shouty but measured and even amusing. Available pretty much anywhere you find podcasts. @quietriotpod.bsky.social

We have a new PhD position starting this Oct looking at how expression of heparan sulfate proteoglycans in tumour-associated macrophages affects immune responses in multiple myeloma - email me for more info! www.uea.ac.uk/course/phd-d...

No, SARS-CoV-2 isn’t a little bit airborne. It’s not “situationally” airborne. It’s an AIRBORNE VIRUS, spreads via the air. I’m granting an amnesty on people who said (5y ago) that it wasn’t. I won’t say I told you so if you finally acknowledge the evidence. Let’s just get this right and move on.

Remember all these headlines describing a brief rise in government borrowing costs as being "market mayhem", followed by a week of demands for Rachel Reeves to quit? Well one week later and it turns out UK gilts are now outperforming every other G7 country this year, aside from the US

"When it is very difficult I remind myself that we are fighting for the future of higher education... It is the basis of our civilisation."

I will be listening to this one with even more attention than usual!

Here's what delivering change means in concrete terms - a richer, safer, cleaner country. But we need to deliver it for another reason. To show that fatalism is misplaced, that mainstream politics and government can make a difference, and that tomorrow can be better than today

Do you think it got me? @blueskyroast.com

“It’s time we used revenues from green energy production to make communities safe and prosperous, instead of waiting for those who don’t care – yet use us to meet ‘net zero’ targets – notice us, cap in hand. Why must we beg for what’s already ours?” bylines.cymru/voices-lleis...

How dare we?

A good piece, I hadn’t considered the negative effect of social relatability.

My view too… I am in favour in principle… but have too many concerns about the this bill. It just feels too risky.

Vaccines work 💪

Really important piece about how women in particular are bearing the brunt of the collapse of the SEN system. I'm in several FB groups for parents of children with disabilities and the VAST majority of those active in them, seeking solutions, battling for care, are mums.

Sad story in The Times about 88 year old farmer, John Kemp-Welch, who works 5,000 acres of difficult hill farming land in Scotland. Fortunately, he somehow found time to be Chair of the London Stock Exchange, a stockbroker for 30 years and on the board of HSBC.

This is the difference an MP that truly cares about the constituency who elected him makes.
