Tommy O'Brien looked like he was trying too hard to make things happen, and played with a chaotic desperation that hampered his performance. Probably a result of his injuries. His time will come, and should benefit from the outing. Bolton showed good pace, and work ethic. Daly wasnt on long

Also, it’s an A game. Maybe name more than 8 subs. Its supposed to be developmental. Playing a forward in the backs, having 2 9s on the field and no 10 develops no one

Ireland need to play more A games if just to get Hugh Gavin more gametime and exposure. Full of potential and growing into the game. Still raw

Annoying that we wont get to see Gunne show what he can do at 9. Injuries taking away from a great occasion.

Scotland are Scotlanding this

Why are we going back 2 minutes for a penalty only TMO review?

Real shame to see Cian Prendergast ruled out. I think he’s becoming one of the more underrated players in Irish rugby.

The 20s are missing that top tier player that lifts everyone else and helps them win a pro contract. Not sure how many international caps will come to the 2025 class

My biggest concern in relation to the two Ireland squad announcements is that many of the main squad wont play in the A game. If Jack Boyle (and others) doesnt get minutes next weekend - in either game - then its a big missed opportunity

From a career POV, Ross Byrne, Scott Penny, John McKee and Liam Turner may be assessing their options outside of Leinster after the curiously bloated 70 players getting called up for national duty today

Ireland are producing players at such a rate that 70 players can be called up on the same day and we can still point to the likes of Ross Byrne, Tom Stewart, Tierney-Martin, Josh Wycherley, Scott Penny, W Connors, Brian Deeny, Milne, Doak, and David McCann as being unlucky not to be included

Reflecting on the Ireland U20 squad from 2023 - Grand Slam winners, and 2nd in the U20 World Cup. 3 players called up to the Ireland senior squad today: G McCarthy, Sam Prendergast, and D Mangan. 1 additional player called into Ireland squad last month as trainee: J McNabney

I thought Richie Murphy was a good appointment at the time, but its getting close to the time to have a conversation about whats happening in Ulster

While I know that there wont be this many changes, Osborne, Crowley, Conan, and Boyle need to be involved.

My team for Wales: Osborne Nash Ringrose Aki JOB Crowley Murray Boyle McCarthy Clarkson McCarthy Ryan Baird OMahony Conan Sheehan Healy Furlong Henderson Prendergast Blade Prendergast Hansen

Possibly Ireland's best performance since the RWC. Scotland lucky to end up that close. Wasn't expecting that sort of game beforehand, another missed opportunity for Scotland.

13 - Ange Capuozzo has scored 13 tries in 25 caps for Italy since his debut v France in 2022, the =most of any Azzurri player in that time (also Monty Ioane) - only Darcy Graham (19), Duhan van der Merwe (20) and Damian Penaud (23) have scored more among #M6N players over that period. Captivating.

Wales rugby hasn’t reached rock bottom yet. But its coming. Really hard to see where their next win comes from

Not that anyone cares, I gave my "what's best for Ireland" Lions squad a crack. I probably missed a few calls between non Irish players but that wasnt my main goal with it www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/...

I believe I'm going to be wrong on two counts with Ntamack not playing in Dublin, assuming a similar punishment to Kpoku. 1. I forgot about the Top14 games that would be included in the match ban before the Ireland game. 2. Tackle school will lop another week off anyway. Effective 1 match ban

The IRFU have made a mistake putting the A game on at the same weekend as the Wales game. The A team is the one who should be facing Wales

Terrible from Murley since his try. Great IQ from Keenan and Lowe to drag him back out from the try area and into touch

Ireland aren’t good

None of Andrew Porter, Caelan Doris, Tadhg Furlong, or Josh van der Flier should ever play against Wales for the rest of their careers.

The brand of biscuits that Ntamack brings to a hearing might be the difference between him playing in Dublin or not

In the same breath, they are also clearly not as good as England and in some ways are lucky/ have done well that England haven’t scored more.

Not a big fan of the 20 minute red, but that was the perfect orange card offense for it to be used. #Wolfpuppies

Do yourself a favour and skip Full Contact this year. It’s not bad, it’s just very unremarkable.

Interesting to see Aungier called up over Jager. Aungier’s form in 2023/24 was really good, I’m not sure it carried over as much as we’d have liked
