We’re all trapped in this haunted house of a country

AUTISTIC MODE will screen in the Nyack International Film Festival on Wednesday, April 2 and Saturday, April 5, at the Hotel Nyack.

Even if Mahmoud is antisemitic — and I'm pretty sure he isn't, but that's not the point — antisemitism is not a deportation worthy offense.

Despicable and horrifying

I did a cartoon about the disproportionate amount of attention we are forced to pay to the worst couple of people in the world www.dailykos.com/story/2025/3...

i don't know really who said this but an underrated reason why men online have been going crazy is that we have very little prior immunity to things that have circulated in women's content for decades

I feel like all you need to know about the state of mental health destigmatization is if you say "I'm too crazy to do this cool drug" people get very mean to you for being the crazy bitch harshing their buzz

Watching 'The Baldwins' a documentary about Alec Baldwin and his seven young children (three of whom were born since he shot a woman to death) and much younger wife Hilaria (who obviously hates him) preparing for trial has convinced me his daily life is a worse punishment than prison

it's fascinating that in an age of overwhelming optimism about technology James Cameron foresaw big tech destroying mankind over its need to seek profits from the defense industry but also imagined the big tech founder genius responsible as a fundamentally decent man and loving father

"did you make that logo signifying Europe's grim duty to rearm in the face of a hostile United States and expanding Russia?" "Sure did boss, made it real goatse just like you asked,"

Every time some elected democrat sucks off Reagan, I think about Duane.

tfw you completely and comprehensively fail to understand how to undermine someone

There's this weird "The Academy only likes young women" narrative popping up suddenly and it's very much not true if you look over the actress winners of the last 15 years. Meryl, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Frances McDormand, Renee Zellweger, Yuh-jung Youn, Allison Janney

tonight i hope every Oscar goes to the facial expression Ralph Fiennes made near the end of Conclave when the new Pope announced his Pope name

Couldn't agree more. The reason MST3K works (in small doses) is you're actually watching the film along with them, so it's like riffing with friends and you're experiencing the thing being mocked. General mockery of "bad" art though is just tiresome.

Being a hater counts for nothing if you cannot also be rapturously, comprehensively awed by art as well.

Give it back to George L-- ((A man opens his umbrella, a cloud of smoke puffs by the fence on the grassy knoll...))

If I were PETA I would capitalize on the explosion in egg prices by pointing out that there are many vegan egg replacements that are tasty and not expensive right now but unfortunately that strategy doesn't involve weirdly sexual marketing or screaming about murder

Kind of like how “grift” now means “selling a product for money” so actual grifting goes unnoticed

Dear God I’m getting absolutely destroyed on Slate, I needed to be humbled I guess slate.com/life/2025/02...

One of my favorite performances of last year, an actor absolutely understanding the material and turning in what if Tex Avery's Red Hot Riding Hood started reading theory?

Ghost Dog is a movie that sounds like some sort of fever dream when you describe it to people. "Forrest Whittaker plays a samurai who works for elderly Italian mobsters. He raises pigeons and his best friend is a Haitian ice cream salesman who speaks only French."

Even the most disturbing RFK Jr. headline always manages to have a detail inside creepier than you could have imagined. I’m sorry, did you just say Black kids should have a chance to get “re-parented”???? Gift link wapo.st/4hW2xGI

taking black kids away from their parents and putting them on farms seems really familiar to me! what could it be?
