Scalzi books I always recommend to folks who like sci-fi, but need a breather from 500+ page bricks. He also adds a lot of humor to his books (at least the ones I'm familiar with) which is also refreshing.

1. The Doorbell: Similar in tone to the chirp, this announcement like meow is the most common. Proudly proclaimed upon entrance into a once shut room to rescue a human, given in approval with the unveiling of wet food, and just when in a good mood and walking up to someone. BRIEEOOOW.

2. The Classic "Chirp":
One of the more rare sounds, experts expect to hear more of this calls come spring, as they most reliable are expressed upon sight of a bird or squirrel out of the window.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue! Magical realism, romantic, tragic, one of my favorite books of ALL time. The main character is gifted with immortalality, yet cursed that anyone forgets her as soon as she is out of their eye line. Great inspo for a game, imo.
