A beautifully decorated 15th-century sedilia at Kilcooly Abbey in Co.Tipperary. It originally featured a wooden seat where the presiding abbot or priest would sit during Mass. In 1182, Donal Mor O’Brien donated land to the Cistercians for the Abbeys construction on the Tipperary Kilkenny border.

James Kearney, a man of refined (& peculiar) tastes. He had a noted aversion to women but apparently, he enjoyed 'studying strange diseases' & music- building a ballroom with a giant organ, then this clock tower with bells. Died 1876, his sisters inheriting -Limerick Augustians bought the bells.

St. Canice's Catholic Church Kilkenny built in 1824. Hard to imagine Catholics and dissenting Protestants and Jews weren't allowed hold public office until 5 years later in 1829. They also had to pay tithes to support the the local established minister of a church they weren't members of.
