🕹️ Indigo 0.20.0 is out! Many thanks to the contributors involved in this release! A small smorgasbord of quality of life improvements and a wacky Waypoints demo. What's not to love? github.com/PurpleKingdo... #Scala

I've really enjoyed attending @scalar-conf.com one more year, two in a row visiting Warszawa 🇵🇱! Met a lot of people in person, some for the first time, and learned a lot with talks. Plus the weather was as good as you can ask for polish weather 😂

Thank you, @scalar-conf.com! I had a blast! Here are the slides for my talk "Retrying the retry design": michalplachta.com/slides/retries You can find the code (PoC!) at Github: github.com/polyvariant/... ("o rety!" is Polish for "yikes!" 💥) Blog post and hopefully some PRs coming next week 🤞

Deckrun’s public beta is now open! After valuable feedback from early adopters, it’s ready to simplify your deployments. Try it for free, deploy with ease, and share your thoughts.

With AST seemingly explorer not maintained, I decided to try and implement it in Scala.js. Lots of fun, until I hit several recursion bugs in my interval tree implementation, and it was hell from that point onwards. This will soon be hosted under Scalameta org and website.

I'd say maybe a couple of years ago it made sense to buy a Tesla, but European and of course Asian companies are getting up to speed or have even surpassed Tesla. Not to speak of the political implications of buying a 🇺🇸 brand right now as 🇪🇺. Personally, I really like the new KIA EV4 Hatchback.

I'm a European conservative-liberal, but mostly I'm a human being. Given US politics under the Trump administration, I can no longer use 𝕏 in good faith. My account is now deleted. And given the hostility to EU, you know what time it is: https://european-alternatives.eu

We don't do this enough: @b0rk.jvns.ca's github.com/jvns/bsky-oa... was just *instrumental* in helping me track down a bug. Shockingly the bug wasn't mine! Thank you, Julia. Your tool saved me a lot of time.

Esto, esto es lo que necesitamos hacer en España (o la UE en general). Si EEUU es lo que es hoy en día, además de por población, es porque todo el talento mundial emigraba hacia allí.

The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government. blog.archive.org/2024/05/08/e...

Hmmm, I'm not an expert, but I'd say this is an unusual way to draw candles 👀🕯️

So! It's been ages! For releases, 2024 was my 'lost' year as I slogged through the surprisingly hard problem of building a component UI system from scratch. But I'm pleased to announce a raft of new releases. If you want to do some weird stuff with #Scala, look no further..

I haven't touched my twitter account since I deleted all my tweets and locked it up back in November. Now I've received an email, they have suspended it because of a 'Inauthentic Behaviors' rule violation. I don't really care anymore about the account, but that's a blatant lie: it's a purge.

i don't have a joke here, i just think it's rad as hell that this guy is making tiny tiny homes that are attached to bikes for people experiencing homelessness in toronto

Fed up with Meta? Avoiding Instagram or Facebook isn’t enough to stop Meta from harvesting and profiting from your private information. Here’s how to limit Meta’s ability to monetize your personal data.

This is interesting, I was trying to generate an image of Mark Zuckerberg kissing the ring of Donald Trump, using Bing Copilot, and it refused repeatedly to do so no matter how I composed the prompt, to finally shut down the conversation from its side. Too much for free speech I guess.

"We have a looming pipeline problem of potentially epic proportions. Combine that with an ocean of *real* business problems neglected, and a planet-sized amount of LLM-generated technical debt, and you have the perfect storm." codemanship.wordpress.com/2025/01/11/t...
