Beth as always has better words on this than I do, but absolutely correct. Marginalized people need spaces like that where they can connect and comfortably exist. Losing that is a MAJOR loss for MagicCons.

Disappointing decision on the part of @magic.wizards.com and Reedpop to refuse to renew the VML Safe Playspace at MagicCons in the future. Having spent most of my time there, many queer and trans folks flocked to it and it was a space for awesome, inclusive games. It’s a sad loss of precious space.
