The “message” is that judges who anger the administration will be prosecuted at Trump’s whim. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Discovered this morning, much to my horror, a packet of Scarlet Runner beans I'd never planted. 😮 (I had forgotten, I ordered two packets; not just one.) This is 2-3 weeks past optimum time to plant beans in this Zone (9a). So I hope they have time to produce before the summer heat sets in!

If we make it through this dark period with democracy intact, it may be because the administration's incompetence was greater than its depravity.

I'm sure Katy Perry had no idea she was prophesying about Donald Trump when she wrote this song!... 😕

So Sec. of State Marco Rubio said this: "As long as [the markets] know what the rules are going to be moving forward...the markets will adjust." THAT'S THE PROBLEM, MARCO! The markets DON'T KNOW what the rules are going to be because TRUMP KEEPS CHANGING THEM!!

"I'm not going to be bullied, because there's no end to the bullying if you agree to be bullied in the first place. If there are consequences to not bending? - fine! It beats selling your soul." Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic, April 3, 2025

Louisiana showed the country that we will not be gaslighted; Wisconsin showed the country that they cannot be bought; Sen. Cory Booker showed the country that there is finally a fighter in Congress who will call out the abuses of the Trump Administration. THE RESISTANCE IS RISING!! 💪

"So... April 2nd: April 1st is April Fools Day. April 2nd is 'Liberation Day'!; we're going to be liberated from our money." - Molly Jong-Fast, from Fast Politics podcast for 04/01/25

The argument that actually punishing Le Pen and her cronies for their crimes will only make them stronger in the long run is a little hard to swallow when we have a prominent example of a right-wing authoritarian who was very much not punished for his crimes and is now wrecking everything in sight.

"Hello, Wisconsin!" Last Saturday, Louisiana showed the country that we will not be gaslighted. Today, we're counting on you to show the country that you cannot be bought!

2 of 2/ Besides that, I would not be a bit surprised to see those same four failed amendments reappear on either the October or November ballot, but in 'slightly reworded' form.

I honed in on "We do not see this as a failure". 🤔 Gov. Landry has been trying to consolidate power ever since that 'rush, rush, update the State Constitution' thing that fell flat last year. So I'm wondering what end-run around the state Constitution he may try from here. 1 of 2/

www.facebook.com/share/p/1B6M... So...how soon do y'all think those four failed amendments will reappear on a future ballot, in 'slightly reworded' form? 🤔

Way to go Louisiana voters! You've restored my faith in you by giving a giant "f*** off" to all four proposed Constitutional amendments. 😊

podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t... [In this edition of Radio Atlantic,] We talk with The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg and Shane Harris, an Atlantic national-security reporter, about what it means that (an) absurd and admittedly relatable thing happened in such a high-stakes situation.

So far in this Trump Administration, Congress has essentially been inert, impotent. So do I believe there will be any accountability over the Waltz/Hegseth Signal fiasco? Yeah, right!! But how much you wanna bet Congress will haul Jeffrey Goldberg in and grill him for publishing the details thereof?

At this point, I would not be the least bit surprised if the Trump Administration and ICE started deporting Indigenous peoples (a.k.a. Native Americans).... because they're not "American".

The peril of the dual state lies..in [its] capacity for targeted suppression. Most people can ignore [it] simply because it does not touch their lives. They can turn away while dissidents and scapegoats lose their political liberty. But once the prerogative state is built, it can swallow anyone.

Welp, there goes the US defense industry.

Over the past week, I suspect Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has realized he's working for a madman.

Happy to see bees out and about... 😊 🐝

Social media has been good for one thing . Canadians and Americans both see each other as equals now . It didn't used to be that way . They truly understand our struggle and we theirs . They aren't blaming Americans for Trump, just the crazy right wing as they have their own right wing struggle .
