Affinity is great, I switched years ago and never looked back! One time fee!
One gap: there isn't a Bridge equivalent in the suite, you'll need something like Darktable to view/rank photos in bulk, and that can be janky.
The only feature I miss is that Designer doesn't have a robust skew tool.

Mac user of 20+ years here, and I can't think of a good way to do it with just those tools.
Affinity Design has a free trial and is cheap afterwards, that's the tool I use for sort of work. Easy to draw circles and put text following them. (Affinity Photo is good as well as a PS replacement.)

Well Twitter is the Nazi bar, and Facebook/Instagram/Threads/WhatsApp is enabling genocides, and TikTok is used by the Chinese government to secretly influence who you vote for. So far bsky and mastodon (and Signal) seem to be the only safe places left.
