Hello Bluesky! Excited to make our debut with our first lift-outs on the new Hydra Bio PFIB. A chunk of brain tissue has been mounted with the needle onto the finger of a half-moon grid and is now ready for milling to create a thin lamella for further analysis. Stay tuned for more updates! #FIBSEM

Professor Adrian Crellin CBE, one of the most senior radiotherapy experts, has shared his experience of being a researcher and cancer patient for #WorldCancerDay. Professor Crellin was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in 2016 and awarded a CBE for services to radiotherapy in 2019.

(1/3) Did you know there are around 15 types of HPV viruses that cause cancer? Two types of the virus, HPV16 and HPV18, are particularly prevalent and are associated with most HPV positive cancers. HPV is mainly associated with cervical cancer; however, it also affects the head and neck.
