Same as I ever was. Tea, talking. You know. Now even more easily distracted. I’ve got half-grown kids, cats and a garden I pretend is ‘wild’. Doing a bit of headteaching now.

About a year ago I caused an accident with one of those poles you open velux with. A glass lampshade shattered. The Cat witnessed this once-in-a-lifetime disaster. Just used the pole again after *months*. Can’t find the Cat.

Some sweet-smelling May blossom for you. Mix with heady lilacs for maximum effect

Because some days you just have to file under “bloody stupid”, huff some lilac and move on.

I have been sitting under a tree smelling the flowers, much like Ferdinand. I loved that book when I was little.

As the twilight lengthens, the garden is full of the scent of bluebells, lilac and hawthorn blossom. All the blue flowers glow and this is *the best* time of year.

A study by this cheeto scientist has confirmed the reason why humans evolved opposable thumbs

Forgot I rescued a dicentra at the end of last year. Look what I discovered in the garden today! 💗

A word we hear too often at the moment is “deal”. When we could say treaty, accord, agreement, concord, pact… Let’s all use our Tier 2 vocabulary!

Really really enjoyed tonight’s Doctor Who. Unsettling. #nospoilers

Two tiny red chairs close together in the vastness of St Peter’s. The *vastness*. Who wouldn’t feel small, humble and engulfed by the weight of history? (Entirely rhetorical question. I know who)

The icy moon Dione. With Saturn behind.

The popemobile being used now for the pope’s coffin has suddenly made me very sad. Why this is more moving than ceremony I don’t know.

A colleague thought I’d had a tough week so bought me something called a “cruffin”. Have you seen these things? They’re huge! And neutron-star dense. Probably should only eat a twelfth at a time. Also delicious.

Orange twirl Easter Egg ☺️

The pub where I worked I. The 90s served a caramel apple cheesecake. I’ve tried to reproduce it so many times and never got close to the texture, the mouthfeel, the *density*. Sigh.

Race across the world is honestly some of my favourite telly. I’m especially loving the brothers who are seeing the sights and have been told not to be pompous 😊

Watching Race across the World and listening to the young fella not being comfortable about showing his feelings because of “traditional roles”. The boychild, age 12: “That’s called toxic masculinity, mate” *glows with parental pride*

The Cat is refusing to go outside at night any more (too cold, too scary) so we’ve caved and got a litter tray. I’m not a fan of litter trays but on the plus side it gives me somewhere to put the Reform leaflets.

Start of term anxiety kicking in. A bit better for being in the building today quietly by myself though. At least I know it’s all still standing.
