42 counties in Indiana do not have a labor and delivery unit. These counties are considered maternity care deserts. IN has the 3rd highest maternal mortality rate in the US. I've started the Indiana Better Birth Coalition. Recruiting Midwifes & OB's to make childbirth safe. @mauimom.bsky.social
