Taking a beat to get the right facts still matters. The dude is scummy, but he wasn't the ICE agent in New Bedford. azmirror.com/briefs/milit...

Authoritarianism Consolidation 101: weaponize the tax services against civil society, universities, political opponents and dissidents.

He did not deserve this. But he DID vote for it.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

"People are going to die whether from the mindless automatons carrying out orders or the many ways this administration is looking to reduce the population, which now includes making it harder for poor, hungry people to get food."

This is the day that President Donald Trump sent a clear message to the nation: There is no rule of law in the United States.

Right, because Grandma is on X. This is corruption, plain and simple.

Not respecting history is going to be the end of this place.

With all the chaos in Washington, it’s more important than ever that I have a chance to hear your thoughts and answer your questions. I'm excited to announce I'll be hosting two in-person town hall events next week: on Sunday 4/13 in the Rockland/Camden area, and on Monday 4/14 in Westbrook. (1/2)

It seems my colon is beautiful, no polyps, no nothing. I get to return again in 10 years for my next colonoscopy.

Colonoscopy prep entails some level of privilege. I've only had 3 hours of sleep but I need to write this out.

Trump finally answers the question of "when was America great" and it's before we won two world wars, defeated the Nazis, ended segregation, learned to manage the business cycle, gave women the right to vote, or had a progressive income tax. Okie dokie!

Waiting for the first bottle of magnesium citrate to kick in. I took the day off, so I'm like, ok now!

Today is colonoscopy prep day.

I've been saying this. The fact that 2000 people from the Villages reportedly were protesting against Trump speaks to this. Solid Trump enclave in Florida. But when you fuck with the money. People have a tendency to wake up.

I want to like this site, but every single time I try to post consistently, inevitably, someone will say something that just irks my spirit. Someone read my latest blog post and asked if I had any offline organizing experience, and did I know the difference between an organizer and an activist?

Well this seems like a fantastic plan. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/04/h...

And this is why we keep our asses at home. Talking about this should be a collective movement but yall don’t know when to stop policing black and brown people.

Today at the protest downtown, white organizers with 50501 called the police on a vendor for selling Black Panther merchandise in their protest even though he only had a small table and stayed out of the public right of way. Here is the vendor’s statement:

Lol, I've been shaking my head all day over this. Threads has been on fire over this. Bless her lil heart. Apparently, she deleted her account.

There's a lot of fear and fear mongering at this moment. I'm old enough to have lived through a few recessions, including 2008. Where I ended up filing bankruptcy. I'll just say this, no one knows what's going to happen because we've never quite been in this place. Breathe and ground.

How often are people needing to buy clothes, excluding folks with kids at home. Thrift stores, rummage sales, and yard sales are all great ways to obtain tariff free clothing.

What percentage of people in the US even know how to sew? Perhaps people can just start there, lol.

I think this every day.

A lot of the current organizing is being done by people new to organizing actions. As a result, they often aren't thinking big picture as far as let's not collect folks' info. They are using apps such as mobilize and others because they are considering ease of use, not oh shit, bad idea.

I've been visiting with organizer colleagues across New England, and there is serious organizing and movement going on that isn't captured on social media. I get online, and it's cynicism and doom. Offline, I'm seeing deep concern, camaraderie, and care along with action.
