I am so honored to be a recipient of the 5th Annual Rising Black Scientists Award! I hope that my story will inspire others to share their journey to neuroscience because our voices are important to shaping the field forward.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, Banbury recognizes meeting participants for their significant contributions to the biosciences & society. We begin with @mdburton.bsky.social, Assoc. Prof. at @utdallas.bsky.social. We were happy to have him back at Banbury in 2024. (1/4)

Hi! I’m well overdo for a 🦋 intro so here we go: I’m Ashley, a 5th-year PhD student @MountSinai in the Maze & Nestler labs & a DSPAN fellow ✨ Studying epigenetics in stress & mood disorders from two directions: 1️⃣ Transgenerational stress in dads 2️⃣ ELS effects on serotonin & histone serotonylation 🐭🧬

Awesome opportunity from @blackinneuro.bsky.social!

I am so excited to see @blackinneuro.bsky.social celebrate Black History Month in February 2025, a time where the question "why are we *still* celebrating 'Black in anything'" answers itself. These colleagues are AWESOME, they do important science, they are essential to our progress, celebrate them!

Every day is black history #BLM #MeToo #fight #freedom

Happy Black History Month ✊🏾 This month, as we do every month, we celebrate Black history and all the many accomplishments our people have made inside and outside of science. We are all Black history yall. We love our community and wish you all joy and peace 🖤

Despite the madness we are, and will remain, out here ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Hello world!

From the archives of 2024 African Stroke Organization Conference ASOC 2024 in Lusaka, Zambia was more than #Stroke There was also some #Cultural_Immersion 😊❤️ @blackinneuro.bsky.social

Black in Neuro was built in 2020. nothing can stop good work when good people come together We have to keep sticking up for each other and leading things we believe in!!

Oh hey, I was on the news ☺️ I got to share my love for #BlackInNeuro and this beautiful community that we’ve built 🥰 youtu.be/KIzN7IarlZI?...

Being in the @blackinneuro.bsky.social community and also having worked with leadership and organizers, all I can say is how amazing it is to see how far it’s come! I met some of the best people including @therealdrdukes.bsky.social! Proud of you, friend 😭🖤

Look what I just got in the post!! My advance copy of All Brains Are Wonderful by @thereaderteacher.bsky.social 🥰🧠✨ I'm so proud to have been a part of this project. This book is the perfect primer on neurodiversity for curious minds aged 7-12 years. Pick up your copy Feb 3rd! 📖 #scicomm

We're heartbroken to share the passing of BIN member James S. Brown. He touched so many lives with his warmth. Our thoughts are with all who knew him. You can support his family via GoFundMe: gofund.me/ce58707c

And just like that, the lab is two years old 🥹🥹🥳🎉 This was such a big year for growth, and I’m so so proud of all of us. I’m grateful for their trust and to have found each and every one of them. Looking forward to a great year. Stay tuned! 🤩

James was a PhD student in neuroscience at FSU, and his recent death was devastating for those who knew and loved him. He was extremely bright, motivated, and a strong advocate for marginalized people in STEM. This fundraiser is for his mom, who must be in so much pain right now. #neuroskyence

Oh hello there Bluesky! 👋🏾 I'm Brielle and I'm a neuroscientist and assistant professor @harvardmed.bsky.social and @bostonchildrens.bsky.social. The Ferguson lab studies how brain circuits shape and guide attention, and how that changes in diseases like autism, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and ADHD.

Excited to be featured in the NIGMS Biomedical Beat Blog to start the new year! 🎉 biobeat.nigms.nih.gov/2025/01/unde...

Thrilled to share the most recent pub from the Griffith Lab! We show that sodium channels play unique roles in proprioceptive encoding. We also found some really cool effects on skeletal muscle, and a dev dependent role for Nav1.6 in proprioceptive spinal circuits www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

New work for the CoNeCT lab with friends and colleagues Dr. Warren Taylor and Dr. Carmen Andreescu!

I spent the morning judging a science fair at my old HS. It’s always so heartwarming to see the next generation excited about science! All the kids were great but talking to a Black girl about her project hit me in the feels. Her face lit up when she realized I was her judge 🥹
