It is genuinely wild to think back and remember that I was so hopeful for, and about, all of us in November 2008.

@jaycezen.bsky.social This is my wife’s Bluesky account. She’s really shy. Please give her some encouragement to be more active here with us. She’s amazing and hates Trump as much as you and I. 💙

Holy shit! Now the ICE protestors just took over a government building, forcing their way in by punching and stabbing cops... they just killed one! CALL IN THE NATIONAL GUARD! Oh wait, sorry, that was January 6th. 🙄

mood tonight

Imagine spending your whole life cos-playing and fantasizing about fighting the federal government sending troops in against its own citizens only to root for the government when the moment finally arrives

I still think it's pretty wild that corrupt oligarchs destroyed the entirety of U.S. consumer protection and corporate oversight and it's barely written about by journalists or policy folks just not really of any serious interest

Never thought we’d have to smuggle our kids out of the US for their basic childhood vaccines.

I just can't help thinking that if 'this is not who we are' then we would find a way to stop being this.

PSA: If you think a guy standing on a vandalized Waymo car with a Mexican flag is a bigger issue than the president calling for the arrest of a governor for no reason, you may have lost the plot.

As long as we're talking about federal troops being deployed, the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho would like a word, as would the Seminole, and the Choctaw, and the Cherokee...

Hillary Clinton was right about Trump and his supporters. Kamala Harris was right about Trump and his supporters.

This aged well.

"Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday removed every member of a scientific committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how to use vaccines and pledged to *replace them with his own picks*." But it's OK, he's not anti-vaccine. www.sfgate.com/news/article...

I read the post copied below about 'We only fly one flag here' and got a lil curious. So here's 45 seconds of Googling: Wilmington, DE; Stoughton, WI; Madison, WI.

Oopsie

They’re arresting the wrong people. The criminals are in the White House.

Don't let anybody tell you LA is burning.

Why is Trump yelling about protecting police officers now when he didn’t do it on January 6? Because he considers officers now to be ‘his officers’ but considers the officers on Jan 6 to be ‘Biden’s officers’ Never mind that neither belief is true.

"ThEyRe FlYiNg MeXiCaN FlAgS In ThE StREeTs" Give me a break Police were beat with American flags on January 6th Ohh not to mention the confederate flag being waved in the rotunda

Bird-feeder manufacturers could save a lot of design headaches by just rebranding them as squirrel feeders.

Happy pride moth

DOH!

Let this sink in. Even the Los Angeles Police Chief, Jim McDonnell, made it clear: the people protesting immigration raids were not the ones causing violence. During a Sunday evening press conference, McDonnell condemned the violence as “disgusting”

The Trump administration falsely claims the protesters in Los Angeles are violent people but if you are on the ground in Los Angeles, you will see people from every walk of life. They are protesting the treatment of people being illegally detained by ICE.

we’ve got a bunch of parents voluntarily guarding the elementary school gates if you want to know how LA feels this morning

What's happening LA only proves one thing: Community is actually how we get through this. There is NO other way.

I'm not sure if this link works, but it's a link to an Instagram video about how to deal with the effects of tear gas. Alternatively, it can be found on the @lionesssisterhood page on Instagram. www.instagram.com/reel/DKpzQ7Q...

goodness, mercy me

low energy, bitch

Passive voice obfuscates responsibility for actions. That's why journalists should avoid it 99% of the time. Like this lede: She "was hit." But it was an officer who shot her, not a rogue rubber bullet that autonomously took flight and slammed into her.

“This isn't law and order. This isn't making our country safer or fixing our border. And it isn't leadership.”

mood this morning (Swedish band Kent, title translates as "Then and Now Forever")

Wild that the Washington Post changed its masthead slogan from 'Democracy Dies in Darkness' to 'Own the Libs'

She was very clearly targeted by the shooter.

So I'm to understand that Governor Newsom has noticed the winds shifting direction? All right then.

I'm not a historian but my analysis is it's "Not good" when a government constantly commits crimes and tells the legislature, courts, and general public "What are you gonna do about it"

One thing autocrats try: being incrementally more aggressive to see how much the people will take. Trump doesn't know this because he doesn't know anything, but Stephen Miller and Team Trump certainly do know this.

Trump's stumble on the steps up to Air Force One highlights the extent of Joe Biden's physical decline. www.yahoo.com/news/trump-s...
