It’s the computer game side of GarageHirst off the Internet (Cyberspace). One day will be a YouTube channel (actually the channel exists, just no videos on it).

As it’s May, here is an update on BleedingCart’s long-delayed creative output. Videos: Finally got the last thing to record audio. All being well, a few short videos to come (Thailand Burnout 3 cabinet probably first). Words: Roughly 3000 word article about early 1990s game swaps about 90% done.

Can’t wait to use my VMU for F355 Challenge in the arcade and also go get my printout (none of which works).

Game Over Yeah!

Oh, er, that’s a game arcade prize I didn’t expect.

At the arcade with Hollow Kiki/Kikity.

I wanted to something with low syllables and not in use. It’s deliberately double meaning, so some people think “oh no, Hirst’s Cart(ridge) is bleeding, somehow” and others read it as “Hirst’s BLEEDING Cart” where bleeding is old British slang used for angry/exasperated emphasis (e.g. “goddamn”).

I feel like I’m the only person in the world who has now comprehensively played FIST enough that I can definitively say which version is better. It’s the Saturn. Despite overall better (less bad) graphics and an FMV intro, the controls on the PS1 version are just too broken. Why did I find this out?

My attempt to scan my childhood Zillion map turned out pretty bad—who could imagine an almost 40-year-old dot matrix printout wouldn't scan well—so I did the only logical thing I could do for something maybe two people total would want in the year 2025: I remade it from scratch! 😄 So here you go.

The team at BleedingCart (me) wish everybody an eggs-perfect Easter and a “hoppy” new year!

After several "release candidates," eadmaster has declared his latest English translation patch for Saturn action RPG Princess Crown to be a fully fledged version 1.0! Get the details in our story: www.segasaturnshiro.com/2025/04/20/e... #sega #saturn #segasaturn #retrogaming #videogames #Atlus

I wasn't too sure about Excalibur 2555 AD, but I respect any game with an exploding spider

“So we have this game to publish, Snow Break - any changes we can make?” “Make it EXTREME”

I like a lot of areas of Shenmue, but this little junction with the shop is a particular favourite.

Just remembered that Bruce Willis Apocalypse game on the PS1 and have vague memories that it was basically alright. Might have to dig it out and see if I was wrong.

Many years ago when I took my disappointing copy of Saturn Doom back to the independent game shop for trade-in after a few days, the owners asked my opinion. I said “it’s a bad port” and they agreed, said I was the third person who’d returned it saying that. Now we finally have justice, I guess.

Baby Felix Tennis (PS1) looks like it might be alright. An unchallenging tennis game where I control a bunch of cats sounds like it could be just what I need this week. Investigation required!

New YouTube video is up! I go over some Zelda soundtracks on vinyl and CD, as well as some game music and other cool stuff I've found at Tokyo record stores lately! Give it a watch! youtu.be/wpgPVuwRW7A

Found my childhood “look, even better than a Gameboy” that I used to take on holiday and play wonky Tetris. Still works, though it’s turned half brown like some old consoles.

I want this, but I’m not paying that.

Got the Game Gear out for some portable gaming, might take it out at work on my lunch break and see if anyone asks if I’m OK.

By unpopular demand, my current PAL PS1 lineup - mostly just cheap games as I sold a lot of them when I needed cash some years ago. Despite that, I didn’t sell Incredible Crisis at least.

happy thatcher’s dead day to all who celebrate ☺️

Annoying guy in Slot House was always a favourite character.

Looks like the Saturn is still dominating the fight for shelf space.

I definitely don’t have the biggest Japanese PS1 library, but it’s a strange enough selection that keeps me happy.

Tidying up and found my old PS2 Horizontal Stand! I bought this new in the early 2000s as the sheer pointlessness of it made me laugh. I only use a pair of Slim consoles now, but might find a use for it.

Max Power Racing was truly alright, for reference.

Finally, finally, FINALLY might have got to the bottom of my wiring mess so I can start recording videos about games and taking about them! Going to just do a 20 second video saying “Yeah so remember Max Power Racing on the PS1? It was alright. Please subscribe” then no videos ever again.

I miss Gamestation (specifically pre-acquisition Gamestation).

I’m surprised that the “download code in a box” format isn’t brought to an end purely for environmental reasons. It’a just a complete waste of resources.

Welcome to my gaming hell! Enter the door to my wiring loom of doom!

BAFTAs should just have Shenmue win everything for a laugh. Most iconic character: Hattori who runs the Sports Shop. Best music: Nagai Industries. Innovation: Being able to own a Saturn in 1986.
