holy shit. Cuomo halted an investigation into the Weinstein case after a donation from Weinstein’s former lawyer’s firm to his reelection campaign… guys, this was in 2018 AFTER the Weinstein exposés (multiple) had been published & the #metoo movement was ascendant

The article frames Skrmetti as a poor strategic gamble by activists. In reality, Tennessee passed a categorical ban applicable solely to transgender adolescents which was framed in sex-based terms. The choices were (a) challenge it or (b) concede defeat in advance and abandon trans teens nationwide.

This framing exists because the decision is instantly obvious as one of the legal atrocities of US history, like Dred Scot, the 1870s Civil Rights Cases, Korematsu. The Times doesn’t want to say “The Supreme Court stripped rights out of law” so instead it says “Here’s why they did it to themselves”

The NYT decided to kick trans people in the teeth the day after Skrmetti. They wrote a hit piece blaming trans people for their own oppression and attacked the people who have fought hardest to stop this effort to eradicate us. They turned to Brianna Wu to further their narrative.

This is pretty obviously trolling for people to flip out and swear at him so he can go back to Musk Pravda with screenshots demonstrating that Bluesky is a hysterical mob. Just block and channel your attention somewhere more interesting.

One month apart.

I don't think it's good for the liberal opposition that just a few months ago the House Minority Leader said at an event in NYC: "We can't take our foot off the gas pedal until Iran is brought to its knees — for the good of the world.“

Madman theory but you're actually mad.

Insanity

Sad to report ailing Trump appointee Kristi Noem has decided to cease medical treatment and spend her final moments at home, surrounded by family, getting blasted with shotguns in a gravel pit

When Teddy Roosevelt was called disloyal for criticizing Wilson’s conduct of WWI, he said “to announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

For generations, if you came on a visa and applied for asylum, you would generally not be arrested even if your visa expired during the process. That’s over now. They’re arresting everyone, even people who have done legitimately nothing wrong. What a terrible, awful, inhumane, cruel policy.

Nuremberg style trials for all Trump admin and ICE agents please, feet should be swinging when this is done

Genuine Question because I Do not understand… so if these men roll up in plain clothes and masks, grab a human being… even a child, and throw them in an unmarked vehicle I am just supposed to look the other way and say nothing ?? Ask Nothing ?

It’s probably worth noting one of the things written on this gun is also tattooed on the SecDef’s arm.

"I'm happy to report I'm just fine. I lost a button. But I'm gonna sleep in my bed tonight, safe, with my family... At that elevator, I was separated from someone named Edgardo... Edgardo is in ICE detention and he's not going to sleep in his bed tonight."

Dip into Google & teleport back to 2018 to remember the collective eye-roll w/which Prudent Pundits & the political class greeted the Abolish Ice movement. Then consider how there's never a "reckoning" in the press or political establishment about the prescience of the left, on any issue.

"Since September 2023, the group has found 27 sites with human remains in the desert, Holeman said." www.texastribune.org/2025/06/16/t...

FOLKS.

It feels like the Democrats plan is to do nothing, rely on Trump messing up so much that the pendulum swings back in their direction and they win the White House in '28 with 51 percent of the vote. Then they'll act like everything is back to normal. Shouldn't we be trying to win by a lot more?

This parade review from a former member of the 3rd US Infantry Regiment pulls no punches. charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/the-worst-...

I think we need to start asking democratic elected officials to meet their supporters where they are instead of dooming they never will

We should really drill down on why tolerance for white supremacy is now considered a sign of intellectual rigor.

One thing I've noticed following news closely for 20 years now is that any time we have occasion to look closely at police behavior, we find incompetence. They don't prevent crimes, they don't solve crimes, they suck terribly at their actual job. There are exceptions, but that is the rule.

I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal." That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.

And again, they were about 15-20 times as large as the April 2009 Tea Party protests, so I'll sit back and wait for 15-20 times as many stories from political pundits explaining that this was a decisive rebuke to the sitting president that Changes Everything.

You almost have to appreciate just how beautifully this illustrates the gerontocratic nature of American politics: the Ancient Umbrella is imbued with more experience simply because it existed longer.

A right-winger -- a registered Republican, a Trump voter, an evangelical anti-abortion activist -- assassinates a Democratic official. Republicans respond by blaming the left. Democrats respond by blaming ... no one.
