RIP one of the true innovators in American music. Absolute legend who began a cascade of musical influence which is felt and heard to this day. www.thewrap.com/david-johans...

Wishing @marilouhamill.bsky.social the happiest of birthdays!!! 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️ 🎂 ♥️

Wokest Superbowl ever. Gaga, NOLA culture, Trombone Shorty, Terrance Blanchard, … two Black quarterbacks and Kendrick Lamar, plus my line sister @ledisi.bsky.social singing the Black National Anthem. This is actually amazing and I love it ❤️

Someone on Facebook asked advice for a coverup tattoo for a Gaiman quote (and fair enough!) and a tattoo artist got chatting and said they do so many HP coverups these days too. That made me very happy. Then they said: "I donate the money from hp coverups to trans advocacy groups" and I got happier.

Each day this week, I am doing a thread to signal boost creators that are being targeted for marginalization by jerks. If you are a creator with a disability, please post below and include a link/sample of your work. You DO NOT have to disclose your disability! Support these folks, everyone!

This week, I want to do a thread each day signal boosting creators of different groups, particularly those groups who are being targeted by government. Today, I would love to hear from Creators of Color. If you are a CoC and you have a project to push, PLEASE POST BELOW. Include link, please!

I don’t care if you’re a relative, a fantasy novelist, or an elected official, transphobia is manufactured outrage and transphobe are trash. None of America’s problems are cause by trans people. None. But a LOT are caused by bigots.

I’m not trans and I’m not going to speak for trans people but I am goddamn sick of ‘moderates’ blaming them for their own oppression.

TikTok removing the audio — a song which I wrote and only I performed on — from one of my videos for “copyright infringement” made my decision to obliterate my account and the app a very joyous one. Sayonara, fascists…

Did your child lose their book collection in the Los Angeles fires? Are you a teacher at a school that lost its library or your classroom library? Whether you need one book or a whole library, we can replace your books. 📚 Everyone else, please boost this post so we can connect with those in need. 🙏

Debating whether to begin live streaming music calligraphy onto manuscript paper, mildly asmr-ish. Several of my own violin works to get done first.

These people are your enemies

Tell me you don’t know what either music or enjoyment are without telling me you don’t know what either music or enjoyment are.

Welcome to the public domain, THE SKELETON DANCE (1929). 🎞️ 🎶👻 Walt Disney Studios' first Silly Symphony cartoon is a wordless masterpiece of synchronized animation & music featuring dancing skeletons in a graveyard. ➡️ https://blog.archive.org/2025/01/01/welcome-to-the-public-domain-in-2025

Michael Caine is just one of many reasons why the Muppet Christmas Carol is the best Christmas Carol adaptation. No I will not be taking questions.

Today is Beethoven's baptism day, which means yesterday might have been his birthday, so I'm going to recreate the Beethoven birthday thread here Feel free to mute this post if you don't care to see it all again For the rest of us, let's celebrate my favorite musical weirdo

Cate Blanchett, gripping the baton and giving upbeats in TAR like she’s been doing it her whole life! Loved watching her conduct Mahler 5. Upload whole video please 😏 #musiciansky #moviereaction

If you’re afraid that books might change someone’s thinking, you’re not afraid of books, you’re afraid of thinking.

Tentative baby steps onto this new social media platform but it seems to be logical for us to be here where everything is blue :)

#Holst150 #139: Hammersmith, H 178 Op. 52 (1930) 1. Prelude 2. Scherzo I'm listening to every Holst piece I can find in the order he composed them. Holst's moody, misty and mysterious masterpiece for wind band remains a cornerstone of every ensemble's repertoire to this day.
