Wherever I go in the world, I often question myself: Could I live here? Having spent about 24 hours in Utrecht, I'd say that's a definite yes.

I was wondering why so many people were wearing orange clothing, and I've just realised it's Koningsdag (King's Day) here in The Netherlands.

Belgium ✅ On the train from Brussels to Rotterdam, and then onwards to Utrecht. It's great that I can jump on a train in one country and step off a couple of hours later in a different one.

Someone should tell the Vatican about lavalier microphones.

One of the foods that Belgium is meant to be famous for - beside the waffles - are Frites. Tried some this evening, and was very underwhelmed. Nothing special. 3/10.

England ✅ Second country completed after visiting my parents. I'm now hurtling through northern France on the Eurostar.

I'm using a train ticket booking app called SeatFrog that allows people to big for upgrades to First Class. I used this feature, and got an upgrade on my train from Darlington to London for £25. So I'm now sat in the First Class lounge, on my own, at Darlington Station.

Another day of train travel, heading from Yorkshire in England, down to London, and on to the Eurostar to Brussels. The first train of the day, and it's very quiet.

Holyhead train station, as of yesterday morning, which is right next to the ferry terminal.

Wales ✅ First country completed, albeit only passing through. Next train to Manchester.

My ferry was a bit late arriving in Holyhead, and as a foot passenger I had to wait until nearly the end of disembarkation to get off. There was a short bus ride to the terminal, to collect my bag, flash my passport, and a short walk to my first train to Chester.

Early start this morning to make it to Dublin Port by 7.00am for my ferry to Holyhead. 🥱⛴️ My first time on an Irish Ferry as a foot passenger.

I've been playing pickleball for about 6 weeks now, and I'm still very firmly a beginner. But through some turn of fate I ended up playing with some really good players tonight, and I didn't completely suck, so I'm counting that as a win.

Tomorrow I set off on a week long solo adventure around a few countries in Europe, that will happen mostly by train. It begins with a sail/rail ticket from Dublin to Yorkshire. It's my first time as a foot passenger on an Irish ferry.

I have had roast lamb. I have had red wine. I have had lemon tart. I am now all set to fall asleep on the sofa.

I got turned down from a job after several amazing interviews because after they asked how I felt about Ai, I said I wasn’t willing to steal from other artists and violate a shit ton of copyrights. They said all the copyright issues have been resolved and ended my interview. Just incredible.

Well it's past the vigil, so why not?

Nicola Coughlan continues to be one of the world's best people...

Today is NOT Easter Saturday. It is Holy Saturday. And that is a hill I'm willing to die on.

I've stayed up this long. I may as well push through for the payoff.

Went for a walk in the Dublin mountains this morning, and counted at least a dozen of these abandoned dog poo bags.

It's great news that the Court of Appeal has overturned the High Court injunction blocking the build out of the Strand Road segregated cycle path. Join @ibike.ie at 6.00pm today for a leisurely cycle along the Strand Road. bigride.eu/2025/04/11/s...

📢This Friday!📢 Meet at Grand Canal Square (in front of the Bord Gáis Theatre) at 6pm this Friday 11th April. We've been waiting five years for a safe cycling route on Strand Road - we can't wait any longer. irishcycle.com/2025/04/07/e...

Splitting the stones up here in Donegal! 🍺☀️⛱️

Congratulations to the boys in blue #LeinsterRugby #ChampionsCup Ten tries this time. Let's try for eleven in two weeks time.

The problem is that he's such an unpredictable character that nobody knows how this plays out. Is it a temporary blip, or are we all totally fucked.

Up in Donegal this weekend and the weather is much better than what we left behind in Dublin.

This morning I have fitted a new bathroom mirror/cabinet with loads of fancy features. It has lights, a demister for the mirror, and shaver socket. If only it could actually shave my face/head as well.

I want one of these hats. Greenland could make big money by selling them to disgruntled Americans. A Canadian flag would look nice, too!

The Dodder Greenway on Dodder View Road was dug up several weeks ago, but there's been no work on it since. It's a shame that there's no urgency to restore this prime piece of cycling infrastructure.

IBikeBop through the centre of Dublin leaving soon. If you see us cycling through the city give us a wave and dance to the music, and if you're on your bike, join us! #CriticalMass #IBikeDublin #MonthlyCycles

People who have moved to Ireland from other countries add so much to our society & often struggle disproportionately. Support migrants, stand up for them, be an active ally & the next time someone says 'we've too much migration in Ireland' point them to this report www.independent.ie/irish-news/m...
