I was watching the sit-in today. Cory Booker and Hakeem Jeffries had numerous people who joined the event and contributed their thoughts regarding saving our democracy. I didn’t catch the name of this woman in photo, but what she spoke of resonated deeply in my heart. Please identify her? Thanks!

Tuesday is for cats. Here are Sylvie and Spoozie demonstrating different styles of sunbathing

#15 The Monkey Time, Major Lance 1963. This was a big favorite in 9th grade🤣

Been doing social research for the last few weeks, and haven’t had enough energy outside of that pursuit. #14. The Surfaris. Wipe Out , 1963. Epic drum solos with a true SoCal vibe.

Day #13. Mary Hopkins, Those Were The Days, 1969. Folksy back when the genre was rampant .

Day#12. Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Little Latín Lupe Lu, 1966. A classic banger, great in the car🤣

Day #11 Cool Jerk, The Capitols 1966. This one had a lot of different interpretations depending on age, gender, maturity level. Come on people !

Day #10 Chris Montez, Call Me, 1966. This was referred to as easy listening, and on my local vintage radio station as A Forgotten 45. His other song, Let’s Dance, 1959 still shows up on the oldies station.

Day#9 The Rivieras, California Sun, 1964. As someone who spent her adolescence in New England, surf music seemed exotic to me at a time when l’d never even seen the Atlantic Ocean, much less the Pacific 🤣

Day #8. Lesley Gore, She’s A Fool, 1963. I consider her to be the Queen of Adolescent Relationship Angst music. There will be more of her work in future posts.

Day #7. Ruby and The Romantics. Our Day Will Come, 1963. It was my favorite song when I had a big crush on a certain boy in junior high🤣💔

Day #6 Friend and Lover, Reach Out In The Darkness, 1967. The late 60s were the start of resistance to the Vietnam War, and music did its part.

Day#5. Shirley Matthews, Big Time Boy, 1963. She was a Canadian pop star who won the RPM Gold Leaf Award, for this hit. Later songs didn’t do as well 🇨🇦

Day# 4. The Chartbusters, She’s The One, 1964. It was a one hit wonder, and the attempt to sound like the Beatles really stands out, like an awkward first blind date

Day#3. Let’s Hang On,The Four Seasons 1975

#1. Norma Tanega, Walking My Cat Named Dog , 1966

For my birthday my sister gave me a small recorder player. I have a stack of 45s ranging from the early 60s to the early 90s and I’m playing one a day in no particular order. I have no idea how many there are
