Did voters expect our personal information to be breached by Musk's baby hackers, our standing around the world to be trashed (again), our institutions to be dismantled, civil servants kicked to the curb (and the ensuing collateral damage) and our allies disrespected to the Nth degree? I hope not.

We are watching in real-time the destruction of our system of government. I didn't realize how many Americans hated our democracy so much that they wanted it gone. I wonder how many Trump voters expected him to lower inflation and stop the imaginary "invasion" at the border, not the current chaos.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Bashear was on Politics Nation discussing the effects of Trump's tariffs on Kentucky distilleries. His thoughtful responses on the damage to KY's economy and individual businesses got me thinking he'd be a standout future Democratic presidential candidate. Should be on our radar.

The firehose of egregious actions and dangerous executive orders coming down at warp speed is overwhelming. Not sure it will take even 6 months to undo over 200 years of American democracy. The GOP butt kissers in Congress and uninformed, starry-eyed voters have changed the course of our history.

Part of me wants to spend the next 4 years watching cute animal videos and reading mystery novels. The rest of me plans to stay on top of things, volunteer with our local Dem party, and keep pointing out the crap show that is the current Republican party. They make it easy to showcase their foibles.
