This still makes me grin.. Via @BerylReidOBE During the making of The Beast in the Cellar (1970), a crew member politely invited "Dame Flora & Dame Beryl" to take their places on set. Flora Robson: "Oh no dear, Beryl's not a Dame" Beryl Reid: "No, I'm not. But I do have all my own teeth"

Goodness Matt Munro had such a rich beautiful voice. I just listened to him singing ‘Born Free’ and it is so gorgeous.

“Simplify, slow down, be kind. And don’t forget to have art in your life music, paintings, theater, dance, and sunsets.” Eric Carle

I liked Paul Darrow, he had time for the people he met. He was warm, kind and had a great sense of humour. He is very much missed by so many.

I took this photo a while back. Such a beautiful friendly Robin.

I thought you had moved to Margate? No, Stargate 🤣

I know it’s said that people don’t like musicals because it isn’t like real life. People don’t just burst into song! They haven’t got friends like mine then 😂

I have learnt today that Pumpkin varieties include French Cinderella, Red Warty Thing, Spooktacular and Big Max.

I fondly remember watching Billy Dainty and I miss seeing his comical walks and impressions. He was an amazing dancer and music hall performer, and I really admire his skills as an entertainer. He trained as a tap dancer with Buddy Bradley and received a scholarship to RADA.

When I was little I used to call Sontarans ‘Sultanas’ 😂

I like the old school feel of ‘The Robot Revolution’ and please could the teeny robot polisher be the new K9! Bring it back I say 😁

“The most sophisticated people I've ever known had just one thing in common: they were all in touch with their inner children.” Jim Henson

No two trees...no two leaves...are ever exactly alike. No plant...no flower...ever perfectly symmetrical. Repetition, yet with a slight difference. Variety, yet with conformity. This is how we expect it. This is how we love it. This is beauty." C.R. Milne

I loved ‘The Generation Game’ where they have a game performing scenes from a movie. Jon Pertwee was great fun. This is my screen grab of him as Dracula.

That's what all art's about - a sense of moving away from boundaries that you can't in real life. Like a dancer is always trying to fly, really - to do something that's just not possible. But you try to do as much as you can within those physical boundaries. Kate Bush

PRATTLE-BROTH was the word for 18th century tea. I found this out via QI 😀

Children's BBC's 1980 adaptation of The Bells Of Astercote by Penelope Liveley is as genuinely unsettling as any of the more celebrated Ghost Stories For Christmas aimed at adults. It deserves way more attention than it gets... timworthington.org/2019/12/09/a...

Into 85 and there more comedy from YTV That's my boy. In which the series moves from London to Yorkshire.

Roberta Cowell was born on this day in 1918. A British racing driver and Second World War fighter pilot, she was the first known British trans woman to undergo gender-affirming surgery, in 1948. 🏳️‍⚧️ Here's my charcoal portrait of her. I have a new Heron friend.

Morning! The sun is shining. I hope that your day brings good things ☀️

For a trip down memory lane… watch “Take Me Home”, an 80’s drama on @bbciplayer.bsky.social Starring Keith Barron, Maggie O’Neill, Annette Crosbie and @reecedinsdale.bsky.social It’s a powerful piece and an interesting social commentary on life “then”. Hard to watch in parts. Acting is outstanding!

"Life is mostly froth and bubble Two things stand like stone: Kindness in another's troubles Courage in ones own" Adam Lindsay Gordon

I used to really like the TV series ‘Starstrider’ starring Sylvester McCoy. It was a Children's quiz show hosted by Starstrider, a space being from the planet Ulphrates III. @4SylvesterMcCoy

What's a ghost's favourite play? Romeo and Ghoul-iet 👻😁

My very first album was ‘Tales Of Beatrix Potter narrated by Wendy Craig’ 1971.

Just a little reminder that Dreamers will be available to stream on the C4 platform from Sunday. Think "Kids from Fame" but set in Leeds. And cooler. Much cooler.

This was broadcast on the radio Christmas Eve 2022. Mark Gatiss and Richard Coles share a passion for ghosts. But can they see a real one? www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...?

Have a good Sunday everyone 😀

Jenny’s word of the day: Nemophilist... One who is fond of forests or forest scenery; a haunter of the woods. Photo taken by me.

I always think that there isn't enough kindness in the world, but when you look around and see the small kind deeds (that go unnoticed each day) by a lot of lovely people, you realise that it isn't as rare as you think and it makes you smile.

I hope that everyone was ok time travelling last night, and no space sickness 😁 ⏰
