Yes, you say your commissions are open, despite the fact that you have zero posts

I did it. 366+ albums logged.

12/31 Toying With Time by Master Sword - 2025 Majora's Mask, my favorite Zelda game & they did it justice. Vocals are powerful, guitars shred. Everything is excellent. Anju & Kafei's story in My Last Breath is beautiful. I'm honored to have listened to this early. masterswordband.bandcamp.com

12/30 One Bedroom by The Sea and Cake - 2003 Couldn't find a groove that I liked until the final song. Got me tapping my foot for a bit but stopped short. Not denying their talent by any means. They've been around awhile & are still active. They have their fan base. I just won't be a part of it.

12/29 Let Love In by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - 1994 Goddamn. Low vocal tones, dreariness shrouding the songs; the music sent shivers thru me. Red Right Hand, the bell gong after the crescendo in his voice *chef's kiss* Tragically beautiful lyrics like a sad, lowly barfly telling life stories.

12/28 pink balloons by Ekko Astral - 2024 A case of "stickittothemaneosis:" "They're about disruption. But it’s also about Washington, DC, queerness, partying, money, violence, difference, irony, and religion. And also: fuck you." Grungy muddy garage punk goodness. Love it ekkoastral.bandcamp.com

12/27 Highly Irresponsible by Better Lovers - 2024 With a band name like that you'd expect R&B or pop music but nope. This is a high energy, screaming in your face, crazed look at the world & within yourself well balanced blending of rock/metal genres. I'd love to see these guys live.

Brain Dead Teen, Only Capable Of Rolling Eyes And Texting, To Be Euthanized

12/26 Left Renal Agenesis by Utererocele - 2024 This artist has piqued my interest. They liked many of my postings so I followed them. Their music is all experimental. An acquired taste but I believe this artist is on the brink of great things. @ureterocele.bsky.social ureterocele.bandcamp.com

12/25 The Jethro Tull Christmas Album by Jethro Tull - 2003 Fuck Mariah & Crosby or any other Xmas album that you got sick of & go listen to this. Ian goes ham on the flute & their renditions of classic songs are better than any pop holiday slop. Old & original songs fit perfectly for the season.

12/24 All That We Have Now by Fear, and Loathing In Las Vegas - 2012 Japanese electronic metal that's similar to Electric Callboy. I've noticed that I really like this sound of metal: hyper is what I would call it. Fast instruments and very melodic with chip tunes thrown in. It's a blast.

12/23 Legends Never Die by Juice WRLD - 2020 Wow. This cat was mature & wise way before his time. It's like he knew he was ready to go. He spoke truth to his words. Very open about his drug abuse, depression, and lifestyle. I should've caught wind of this sooner. A heralding career cut too short.

12/22 MASHLE Soundtrack Vol. 1 by Masaru Yokoyama - 2023 Never heard of the anime, reading about it makes me want to watch it. Sounds badass. The album is short & was a breeze to get through. Excellent instrumental scores to hip-hop tracks. Vibes for all occasions for the story arc in the show.

12/21 How to drive a bus by I've Made Too Much Pasta - 2021 So silly yet it put on smile on me. Yes, the internet IS dumb. I can relate to it, too. "Instead of dying doing what you love, you died doing things you hate" when it might happen at work. ivemadetoomuchpasta.bandcamp.com/album/how-to...

12/20 Be A Man by "Macho Man" Randy Savage - 2003 A legend in the ring as well as on the mic. Definitely better than Shaq. The intro hurts when someone asks "Is he still alive?" He has flow but weakens as it goes on. We're both in agreement, tho: Fuck Hogan. Nothing is explicit here, very clean.

12/19 Klok In. by Klokwise Loud, aggressive & dumb. I love it. As a nu-metal fan it's all familiar territory. Lyrics like "I'm gonna hit you so hard your bones will crack, drink some milk boy you're gonna get whacked." Who writes lyrics like this? These guys do. Great stuff. klokwise.bandcamp.com

12/18 Automatic by VNV Nation - 2011 It's good. The danceable electronic sounds & bass vibrate my eardrums so well my earbuds turned the volume down on me automatically. Never happened before. It wasn't even close to max volume. Uplifting & comforting lyrics that give hope for a better tomorrow.

12/17 An Ode by Seventeen - 2019 I will never understand why a group called 17 with 13 members in the act. Is this the group that took over Snot's uncle's band Boyz 12? Is there a South Korean version of Pitbull in this group? I think I'm done with huge pop acts. They're getting on my nerves. Ugh.

12/16 Folklore by Taylor Swift - 2020 The first album by her I've listened to in full. I'm glad it didn't have any huge pop hits I've heard before. Not one song was a "party" song. Soft, gentle storytelling ballads of heartache & romance most people can relate to. Betty was, by far, my favorite.

when people say 'polycule' this is all i think of

12/15 OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES by SOPHIE - 2018 An artist gone too soon. A must listen w/ headphones bc sounds surround & encapsulate. Glitch tunes, mechanical bangs & whirrs in rhythm w/ loud vocal crescendos. The bass is low enough to tingle your genitals. Feel the emotions in her voice.

12/14 Missionary by Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre - 2024 I'm saying it's by Dre as well bc it's all produced by him. True to form when Snoop comes in w/ gangsta rap lyrics while Dre samples some huge hits from Tom Petty & Sting for the hard beats w/ a plethora of guests. It's fine. Em seems to phone it in.

13 to go. #music

I need about 15 more albums to fill up the rest of the year. Open for suggestions. Something I haven't heard before, any genre, any year. If you suggest one I'll let you know if I've heard it or not. No more than one suggestion per person, please.

12/13 Psychopomp by Japanese Breakfast - 2016 Serene. I just don't like the sound of breathing in to sing especially when it's this prominent. It's like they enhanced the vocals on their breaths & that's all I hear. Quite annoying. Other than that this is a low-key horny band & the music's fine.

12/12 Cult of the Basement by The Jazz Butcher - 1990 I don't think I heard the jazz sound at all. It's more like ragtime. Def a mixture of genres where I can't pinpoint just one. Weird, whacky & unhinged; I'm here for it. They sing so nonchalantly and calmly with the stories they tell.

12/11 Sassy For Satan by Cancerslug - 2016 This band & album is not for everyone & everyone can receive the middle finger from them. Who else can write about how everyone can go fuck themselves & then claim they are hung like Jesus. Garage punk at its darkest & much more. cancerslug.bandcamp.com

12/10 Silent Alarm by Bloc Party - 2005 I only chose this album because I loved playing Helicopter on Guitar Hero 3 plus I heard it on the Grandma's Boy soundtrack. I can't grasp what this album is about but I know it's pretty damn good with just the instrumentation. I can come back to this, easy.

12/9 Dive by Twice - 2024 9 beautiful women with voices that are soothing & the music is melodious. Kpop is taking over. Not meant to be mean but their accent threw me off on the first song with the lyric "I give myself on my own first wave" I thought I heard "I kill myself in my own worst way." 😑

12/8 NOEASY by Stray Kids - 2021 One of the boy bands from South Korea formed thru a tv show. An industry plant that took all the best sounds in hip-hop, electronic & dubstep music from America then mixed it all together in this band and made it work. But I did like this? I question my own tastes.

12/7 Go! by Letters to Cleo - 1997 Every song of theirs has a good bounce to it. I slept on this band in high school. I like rock bands like them. Stand out songs for me are Co-Pilot & Veda Very Shining. All in all a very underrated album.

12/6 Bif Naked self-titled debut - 1994 A strong female voice in grunge music. Some songs sound close to other famous tracks like Collective Soul's Shine & Smashing Pumpkins' Today. It's odd bc I thought they were going to be covers upon 1st listen. The stories & music are good. The final track: 👌

12/5 El Gallo de Sinaloa by Chalino Sanchez - 1995 This corrido sound gave me a slight headache. Every song is ad nauseum. It hurt listening, the accordion player shreds, tho. Then I read the translated lyrics, then his history and holy shit; it's more fascinating than the music itself.
