At least I got 4 hours of sleep before Tavi woke me up and it became impossible to go back to sleep? I’ve been up for 3 and any more sleep tonight isn’t looking good 🥲

Sunrise through my office window

So, hilarity. Tavi has learned to bark to be let in! This is not hilarity, this is good - he used to be terrified of being left outside. Now he can just bark and the door opens! But he thinks he has to be facing away from the door when he does it. So the neighborhood just gets randomly barked at.

Did a half hour of penance* before work this morning and it seems like it made a good difference? Hate that. Stupid little walk for my stupid mental health etc. * 30 minutes at 3 mph on the treadmill due to being cursed with a human form

As I’m rapidly approaching 50 years old, we’re gonna have to ban the jokes about certain ages and technology because I spend a not insignificant amount of time in multiple contexts explaining technology to technology professionals who’re younger than me.

Taking a Monday 8am work meeting from bed via tablet because of waking up with a sick headache - definitely a sign the week is off to a hell of a start

I had bacon in the freezer, so tonight's dinner is baby bok choi sauteed with bacon over rice, roasted squash sauteed and mashed with bacon and coconut milk (with a little lao gan ma on top - should I be eating soy beans? probably not 😆), and chicken soup with green onions. Feeling weirdly virtuous.

The thing about in office weeks is I had 15.5 hours of non-billable work time last week.

Work thing accomplished. The remaining critical stuff for today: finish watering plants, fill humidifiers, and treadmill.

And now a certain puppy is doing her damnedest to annoy me into either a) working or b) serving as her personal door opener. There's whining, there's pawing, there's howling, there's the smacking the laptop with her nose maneuver. (She gets embarrassed when I point the phone at her tho)

Well. This is as far as I've made it for work task so far today. Would it be easier to complete upstairs at desk? Yes. Am I gonna? No. (Altho, honestly, I mostly just need to fix the mouse precision and/or my related reflexes for a larger and more hi-res screen than usual)
