Why are eggs so pricey? We cull poultry instead of vaccinating against avian flu. Why? Because trading partners don't accept livestock from countries who vaccinate. Why? Because vaccination slashes mortality but not infection, and we'd be exporting infected, but symptom free birds.

Finished my list of backyard true bugs... There are probably at least a dozen more I could add if I was able to ID them, and another dozen or so if I actually collected them (mostly aphids, plant/leafhoppers, whiteflies, etc). Not bad for an urban backyard! #Entomology #BugSky
