Built in the 15th century The Ancient House as it has now been dubbed, could possibly be one of the oldest houses in London. Over the years the building was left to deteriorate and was once used as a bicycle shop. Fortunately the house was successfully restored in 1934 and then again in 2001.

Bridget Jones - Mad About The Boy is out in cinemas this week. I thought it would be good to share this picture I took last year. Bridget's old flat, well the outside. Is situated in Borough Market. You can find it in Beadle Street at the London Bridge end of the market. 📍Beadle Street SE1

London taxis must have a turning circle not greater than 8.535 m (28 ft). One reason for this is the configuration of the famed Savoy Hotel: the hotel entrance's small roundabout meant that vehicles needed the small turning circle to navigate it. #taxi #londonhistory

London has over 170 museums, including quirky ones like the Fan Museum in Greenwich, which is dedicated entirely to hand fans, and the Museum of Brands, which explores the history of packaging and advertising. It’s a paradise for curious minds!

This is the statue inside London Cannon Street station. It's of The Plumber's Apprentice. It was erected to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers receiving its Royal Charter from King James I in 1611.

Big Ben is one of Londons most iconic landmarks. But it's not actually called Big Ben. The actual name for this beautiful architectural wonder is the Elizabeth Tower. It's actually the Great Bell inside the tower that has the nickname Big Ben.

The Elizabeth Line (Lizzy line) is truly remarkable and has sped up travel across London ten fold. 11 minutes from Paddington to Liverpool Street, platform to platform. Nice work.

Honestly. What we do without @uber #lifesaver 😀

From 1200s, the Tower of London housed a royal menagerie of exotic animals including lions an elephant and a polar bear. This predates modern zoos. When the menagerie closed in 1835, many animals relocated to Regent's Park, forming the basis for today's London Zoo.

With most people returning to work today. I'm asking what would you like to see happen in London in 2025?

I've started to repost some of my old blog posts to bring everything up to date. I've also updated some of the information. blunderlondon.wordpress.com/2025/01/03/s...

Happy New Year and all that. And with that in mind I would like to know if you miss the free public transport service that used to be provided by Transport for London?
