These NIH funding cuts threaten research happening in Delaware on heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke recovery, & more. This is what this administration is focused on. Not lowering your household costs.

Republicans are passing a bill to cut Medicaid so Trump and his billionaire friends can pay for their tax cuts. This means ripping health care away from millions to lower taxes for the ultra wealthy. This isn't what Americans meant when they said they wanted lower costs.

Poultry farming is huge in Delaware and as we contend with outbreaks of the avian flu, it is critical that our farmers don’t pay the price. I'm proud to cosponsor this bipartisan bill with Senator Chris Coons to provide our farmers a lifeline.

How it started: President Trump promised that he would bring down food prices on day one of his presidency. How it’s going: Egg prices are at a record high.

The American people deserve answers immediately. Who was fired and why? Dismissing critical staff from the FAA has dangerous implications.

I am deeply concerned that the President and his unelected billionaire friend are illegally cutting funding for lifesaving medical research administered through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). We cannot and will not sacrifice research for recklessness. Read my full statement ⤵️

I'm proud of our federal workers. I've heard from many of them about the unacceptable chaos & mistreatment they've experienced over the past several weeks. I was glad to meet with the American Federation of Government Employees District 3 and express my commitment to protecting our public servants.

The Delaware Wing - Civil Air Patrol represents the future of the growing aviation opportunities in Delaware, including at @delstateuniv.bsky.social. It was great to host these future aviators in the Capitol this week. I look forward to working in the Senate to support the Civil Air Patrol.

Seven years ago today, our nation witnessed the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. What was supposed to be a day filled with love turned into a day of heartbreak. (1/2)

This administration wants to cut HALF of our housing workforce at HUD while we are in the middle of a housing crisis. They are solely focused on creating more problems, not solving them.

Day 23 update. The headline speaks for itself.

Providing a high-quality education for our future generations is among our greatest responsibilities. And understanding how our students are doing and what they need to be successful is invaluable, not wasteful. They need to stop playing games with our schools.

Created during the Great Depression, the FDIC is critical to the security of our banking system. Along with their team of billionaires, the Trump Administration wants to ensure the FDIC can't properly do its job. My colleagues & I are demanding answers.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! Here's to another year of serving Delaware. ❤️

Hey Delaware, #TeamLBR here. Please join us in wishing a very happy birthday to the one and only, Senator LBR! 🎂🎉

Delaware, I’m ready. Are you ready? #FlyEaglesFly on the road to #SuperBowl victory! 🦅🦅

It was a pleasure to attend the MLK Voice 4 Youth finals today in Wilmington. I am so proud of these outstanding students and their inspiring perspectives on Dr. King’s legacy.

The Treasury's systems handle your sensitive personal & financial info, as well as trillions of dollars in Social Security payments for retirees & tax refunds for families. We want answers on who has access to these systems & what they are doing with them.

This week, our bipartisan Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act was passed out of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. We must fix our broken supply chains to lower costs, create jobs, strengthen our economy, be more competitive, & bolster our national security.

The Brownfields Reauthorization Act, which I lead with Senator Shelley Moore Capito, will help us reduce environmental hazards, spur economic development, & support our health & safety. Delaware will benefit from this legislation & I hope to see it signed into law.

I’m grateful that the Delaware Department of Justice has compiled critical “Know Your Rights” guidance for Delawareans. Visit de.gov/kyr for more information.

The freedom to decide when & how to start a family belongs to YOU & YOU alone. I'm proud to join @markey.senate.gov, @hirono.senate.gov, @senduckworth.bsky.social, & @repfletcher.bsky.social in supporting the Right to Contraception Act - legislation to protect one of our most fundamental freedoms.

The unconstitutional freeze on federal funding will have real & devastating impacts on our communities, our state, & our nation if it does go into effect. Sen. Chris Coons, Rep. Sarah McBride, Gov. Matt Meyer, AG Kathy Jennings, & I are doing all we can to fight it.

I plan to oppose every cabinet level nominee that is considered on the Senate floor going forward. The recklessness on display has already proven to be incredibly harmful and will only continue, unless we do something. I will do everything in my power to stand up for Delaware.

Delaware experienced a massive loss today. Coach Alexandr Kirsanov and skaters Angela Yang and Sean Kay were returning from a training camp in Wichita, Kansas where they were practicing their love of the sport when tragedy struck. (1/2)

I am closely monitoring reports of a plane crash over the Potomac River in Washington DC. As we learn more, I am praying for everyone who was on board the aircraft, as well as the first responders who have rushed to the scene.

Happy #LunarNewYear to all who are celebrating in Delaware and across our nation and world! As we welcome the Year of the Snake, I am wishing everyone a year of transformation and new beginnings, and as always, plenty of time spent celebrating with loved ones. 🧧🐍

Earlier today, I voted "no" on Sean Duffy's nomination to be Secretary of Transportation. As a member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, I had one-on-one conversations with Mr. Duffy about critical transportation and infrastructure initiatives Delawareans rely on. 🧵

I'm hearing from Delawareans that they are nervous about what Trump's unconstitutional funding freeze may mean for them. Community health centers, nonprofits, free school lunch programs, and more are at risk. This is not a game. These are people's lives. This must be reversed.

No matter what the President attempts to do, he cannot rewrite this stain on our history. I proudly joined Senator Patty Murray on this resolution. If my colleagues on the other side of the aisle support law enforcement, they'll do the same.

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. I join all those around the world in mourning and remembering the 6 million Jews and the millions of other victims murdered during the Holocaust. We must always stand up against antisemitism and hate in all its forms.

The future of U.S. leadership in critical and emerging industries relies on the investments and strategic planning of today. This federal funding will help grow Delaware’s ability to lead in STEM by investing in our research capacity and workforce.

President Trump just rolled back a 60-year-old, civil rights-era executive order that prohibited discrimination by federal contractors. This is a terrible step back. And he won't stop here.

Today, I am wishing a very happy birthday to the biggest fan of birthdays, Senator Tom Carper! I am proud to be expanding on his decades of service to keep delivering for Delawareans. Enjoy your day!

I was trapped up in the Gallery on January 6th. Allowing those that were involved to escape justice is an insult to our democracy and to the police who were injured and lost their lives. President Trump can issue as many pardons as he likes – but they will not change the truth.

Why STOP progress? We came together to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which has been building modern roads, bridges, & ports, creating thousands of jobs. The Trump Admin is putting our future in REVERSE by illegally halting funding for it. Delaware is counting on it!

Today is the 52nd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade. The overturning of Roe in 2022 has made women less safe across our nation - and it has cost lives. Now more than ever, I am committed to defending our freedom to make our own health care decisions.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Cecile Richards. An advocate for reproductive health care and abortion rights across our nation, millions of women and girls are healthier today because of her tireless work. For that, we are forever grateful. May she rest in peace.

I recently wrote a letter to President Biden thanking him for his decades of impactful service and his unshakeable optimism for the “possibilities” of America. Read my full letter in Delaware Online: www.delawareonline.com/story/opinio...

Happy Founders’ Day, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.! 🩷💚

History will show that working with Democrats and Republicans, President Biden accomplished things that had only been talked about for decades. Thank you, President Biden, for your unwavering dedication to the possibilities of America. We will be forever grateful for it.
