my controversial Magic: the Gathering opinion is that wotc isn't utilizing the cards themselves nearly enough for storytelling. i shouldnt have to hop online to know what the story is. it should be easier to piece story beats together thru artwork, story spotlights, or even inserts in packs/kits.
