Quiet days in the studio during these cold, snowy days.

Wishing all my Bluesky friends a serene and blesséd Christmas.

Lunch anyone?

My series of watercolor winter scenes is in full swing. Love my studio but it’s missing one thing...a studio cat.

Playing in the studio again today. Fire going and a fresh pot of coffee. My favorite kind of day.

First sketches for a larger watercolor painting. Small boy, barn and some chickens. Old Altoids mint tin with a few colors plus a water brush.

Sketched from a closed car window and very cold outside. On the way to Stowe, Vermont. A quick sketch, a few research pix and I’m ready to start a new Watercolor painting.

‪@Bob181.bsky.social‬ ‪@bob181.bsky.social‬ I have been asked to post samples of my watercolor work. Here is a sampling.

Starting a new watercolor painting today. Here is my rough sketch, hopefully working out all the possible errors in advance. This sketch sets the mood, composition and palette to be used.

A thought for today’s watercolor painting. Perhaps a few deer prints in the forefront.

A few trees out back. Quick sketches using an old Altoid tin fitted with White Nights watercolor blocks. A water brush is needed for alfresco.

I always have some watercolors with me and a water pen. Safari jacket with lots of pockets a must.

I remember sitting for a few hours sketching Tower Bridge in London, with a thermos of black coffee and a good cigar. Just a few seagulls for company.

Here’s an old tree out back in the woods here in Connecticut. Such character.

I’m starting a new watercolor painting. Here is my small prelim sketch in my daily sketchbook to work out the details. Quite a few mistakes here, which I will correct in the final larger painting. Adding either couple or kids making a snowman.

Here’s the Lisbon Arch using just squiggles and scratches, no actual details. A fun way of sketching...what I feel as opposed to what I see.

Chaos at sea.
