One of my favorite things about my late father in law: We’d get him a new twins or vikings shirt for xmas or bday. and WITHOUT fail, first time he wore it to a game, he’d drop a huge glob of mustard on the shirt from his brat. every. single. time.

Made the mistake of making the “why do they call it Good when it’s the day jesus was tortured?” joke around my evangelical coworker. He took it a little too serious and starting talking about how it was the “greatest gift”. I wanted to reply, then call it great friday. but figured i should leave it.

Thanks @davidjroth.bsky.social. I didn’t realize Ebbets Flannel was bought by fanatics. I was looking at jerseys of old teams to use as a uniform for my curling team. but now i’ll look elsewhere.

Also, the SAME LADY said the brewers need a rebrand because their “logo is just and M and a B. and it’s bad”. I’m no fan of the brewers, but that is one of the best logos in sports.

I swear to God this happened tonight. I was surrounded by mets fans, and one of them said after the Jackie Robinson Day narration “wait, then who was Babe Ruth? I bet a lot of people get them mixed up”. THAT is why we need Jackie Robinson Day.

I’m always proud of my son. But this is a new level. last week he wanted to bring his glove and a ball to play catch with a friend during recess (he had been playing football). today he grabbed his wiffleball bat. I walked by during recess and they had a whole game going with two teams.
